The agent of Lucas Biglia has confirmed there is a deal in place with AC Milan and that the midfielder asked to leave Lazio ‘a month ago’.
Milan have earmarked Biglia as the next player they want to sign as part of their squad overhaul this summer having already signed four players for a combined fee in excess of £60m.
Vincenzo Montella’s side have already agreed personal terms with Biglia but now just need to agree on a fee with Lazio, who are holding out for €20m (£17.7m).
“Lucas talked to Lazio a month ago, declaring his choice to leave Rome,” Enzo Montepaone told Il Messaggero, via Football Italia. “There’s a deal with Milan and we’re waiting for the two clubs to come to a definite agreement.
“I know they’re talking about finding a solution, because there’s also an opportunity in England but I can’t say any more about that.
“Milan and Lazio are talking and they have to find a deal, next week I’ll be in Italy and hopefully everything will be resolved quickly.”
The 31-year-old has spent the last four years at Lazio after joining from Belgian giants Anderlecht in 2013 and has since established himself as an integral player for the Serie A side.
He has been regularly linked with moves away from Lazio but it now seems like his time at the club is coming to an end. In that period, only Allan (477) and Marco Parolo (402) have won more tackles in Serie A than Biglia (371).
