Yahoo! Fantasy Football: Manchester City's rampant attack at it again

We like to enlist the help of our Twitter fans and this weekend’s poll saw Chelsea star Eden Hazard edging out Manchester City’s Gabriel Jesus by the tightest of margins. Read on to find out who joins Hazard in our Yahoo! Fantasy Football XI.

Goalkeeper - JORDAN PICKFORD (EVERTON)

Jordan Pickford did his reputation no harm during the international break after helping England to a 0-0 draw over reigning world champions Germany and now he will be looking transition that form into Everton’s trip to Crystal Palace.

The Toffees have endured a nightmare season to date but have a good history at Selhurst Park in recent years. In fact, Palace have failed to score in each of their last five home matches against Everton and this should give the Merseyside outfit great hope.

Defender - NATHAN AKE (BOURNEMOUTH)

The Netherlands international hasn’t managed to rediscover the form he showed on loan for Bournemouth last season, but the Cherries seem to be gathering momentum at the moment and will be eyeing three points at home to Huddersfield on Saturday.

Nathan Ake is a Yahoo! Top-20 rated form player and Eddie Howe will be banking on a big performance from the young defender to inflict further away day misery for Huddersfield. The Terriers have failed to score in their last five away matches, going nearly eight hours of football without a goal on the road.

Defender - JAMES TARKOWSI (BURNLEY)

Such the good form of James Tarkowski, Burnley have hardly noticed Michael Keane’s departure. No Premier League defender has earned the WhoScored Man of the Match award more times than Tarkowsi (2) this term, which has helped list him as a Yahoo! Top-20 rated player.

The Clarets’ form has tailed off but a home meeting with Swansea should provide the perfect platform to get back on track. Swansea have failed to score in three of their opening five away league matches this term and currently occupy a position in the bottom three.

Defender - LEIGHTON BAINES (EVERTON)

Leighton Baines was rewarded with a well-earned rest over the international break after scoring the winning goal in Everton’s 3-2 win over Watford earlier this month. The England left-back was one of the highest point scorers in GW11 and he will be confident of extending his good moment of form away to Palace.

As mentioned earlier, Palace’s woes at home to Everton should give Baines the chance to earn a clean sheet bonus, while there will always be an opportunity for offensive points with Baines on set-piece duty.

Midfielder - ASHLEY YOUNG (Manchester United)

Now considered a guaranteed start for Manchester United, Ashley Young provides a cheap option for your fantasy football teams. A steady point scorer, Jose Mourinho will be looking to get back to winning ways at home to Newcastle on Saturday where they are yet to concede in the Premier League.

The Red Devils have a perfect record at home and it’s good to take advantage of cost-effective players that will boost your points tally and free up your funds for better players in attack. Young is certainly one of those.

Midfielder - KEVIN DE BRUYNE (Manchester City)

Manchester City are eight points clear at the top of the Premier League and Kevin De Bruyne has played a huge part in their success this season. He is the highest WhoScored rated player in the division this season (8.05) and is a clear frontrunner for the PFA Player of the Season award as things stand.

Only two Premier League players created more chances per game than De Bruyne (2.9) this season, while only team-mate David Silva (7) has provided more assists than the Belgium international (6).

Midfielder - HENRIKH MKHITARYAN (MANCHESTER UNITED)

Henrikh Mkhitaryan scored two goals for Armenia over the international break and Jose Mourinho will hope that will give him the confidence to return to Manchester United with the form he started the season in.

A return to home soil, where United have a perfect record in the league, should benefit the 28-year-old. Despite a poor run of form in recent weeks, he has still assisted at least two more goals than any other United player this season (5) and it’s important he fires on all cylinders as quickly as possible.

Midfielder - LEROY SANE (Manchester City)

Pep Guardiola has assembled a breathtaking attack at the Etihad and Leroy Sane is no exception. No player has scored or assisted more Premier League goals than Sane (11) this season, telling you everything about his form this term.

City have scored at least 15 more goals than any other Premier League team this term and you have to take advantage of that fact when picking your fantasy football teams.

Twitter Pick - EDEN HAZARD (CHELSEA)

As picked by our Twitter fans, Eden Hazard adds the gloss to our Yahoo! Fantasy Football XI. The Belgium international is yet to hit the heights of last season but is always a threat.

After beating Manchester United before the international break, a trip to an underperforming West From should be a walk in the park. The Baggies are on a winless run of nine matches and haven’t won in the Premier League since August. They have conceded at least two goals in their last two home matches, which is a recipe for disaster.

Striker - JAMIE VARDY (LEICESTER)

While Leicester are not expected to beat Manchester City on Saturday, they should at least be confident of causing Guardiola’s side some problems. With Nicolas Otamendi suspended and Vincent Kompany injured, there is a chance Eliaquim Mangala could make his first league start of the season.

Mangala has never convinced for City and Jamie Vardy is exactly the type of striker he would not want to deal with on his first league bow of the campaign. If that wasn’t good enough for you, the 30-year-old scored a hat-trick the last time Leicester welcomed City in the Premier League.

Striker - ALVARO MORATA (CHELSEA)

The 25-year-old has made a sensational start to the season, playing a direct hand in 10 goals in as many league appearances. Alvaro Morarta scored a breathtaking header against United before the international break and he will now get his first taste of Tony Pulis this weekend.

The Spain international is only one goal behind Harry Kane and Sergio Aguero (both 8) in the race to finish the season as the top scorer and he will be more than confident of continuing his fine form in front of goal against a struggling West Brom outfit.
