Tottenham vs Wolves Player Ratings: Wolves boost top-four hopes

Wolves came from behind to secure another win at Tottenham courtesy of goals from Matt Doherty, Diogo Jota and Raul Jimenez to leapfrog Spurs in the table.

Tottenham - 6.51

Paulo Gazzaniga - 5.70: Drafted in in place of the injured Hugo Lloris between the sticks, making his first start since Tottenham's 0-0 draw at Watford in January. Could do little to prevent Matt Doherty from netting midway through the first half, and was powerless to deny Diogo Jota and Raul Jimenez. Made just one save.

Serge Aurier - 7.82: Netted a fine curling effort on the stroke of half time as he buried past Rui Patricio having cut onto his left. Was shaken off too easily by Diogo Jota for Raul Jimenez's goal, but maximised his role as a wing-back to good effect before coming off late on. Made four tackles, two key passes and completed two dribbles.

Davinson Sanchez - 6.37: Caught out of position in the build up to Matt Doherty's goal, which allowed Diogo Jota to fire a low cross in, and looked a little lost without the experienced Toby Alderweired alongside him.

Japhet Tanganga - 5.77: Blocked Diogo Jota's cross, but the ball fell kindly for Matt Doherty to fire past Paulo Gazzaniga. Sold very easily for Raul Jimenez's second half strike and was withdrawn for Tanguy Ndombele shortly after in a forgettable afternoon for the youngster.

Ben Davies - 6.53: A fairly par-for-course performance from the Welshman. Got forward well and could have had an assist having picked out Dele Alli from deep early in the second half.

Eric Dier - 6.87: Drafted into the starting XI as the central centre-back in a three-man defence, with Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen kept on the bench, but looked a little lost, particularly in the second half when Adama Traore was moved infield.

Harry Winks - 5.93: In the absence of Hugo Lloris, Harry Kane and Jan Vertonghen, was named captain by Jose Mourinho for Sunday's clash. Not at his best in the middle of the park, however, with Wolves dominating the midfield.

Giovani Lo Celso - 6.78: Continues to grow into his role as Tottenham's primary creator and despite the defeat, the Argentine was again impressive as he completed three dribbles and made two key passes.

Dele Alli - 6.83: Saw a shot well saved by Rui Patricio, which fell to Steven Bergwijn, for Tottenham's opener and improvised well to force the Wolves goalkeeper into action shortly before Serge Aurier's goal, a fine strike that the midfielder was credited with the assist for. Saw his header edge past the far post after being picked out by Ben Davies' deep cross, which proved decisive as Wolves scored shortly after.

Steven Bergwijn - 6.95: Scored his second Premier League goal in as many home appearances with his close range strike to put Tottenham ahead with 15 minutes on the clock. Faded after his early strike, though.

Lucas Moura - 7.26: Started on the right rather than through the middle as he has down so frequently recently and he looked more comfortable out wide. After a bright start, though, the Brazilian faltered and put in a fairly anonymous performance.

Subs: Tanguy Ndombele - 6.14, Gedson Fernandes - 6.42, Troy Parrott - 5.98

Wolves - 7.05

Rui Patricio - 6.77: Did well to deny Dele Alli from close range, but was unable to turn away Steven Bergwijn's follow up that put Tottenham ahead. Called into action a couple of times in the first half, and was left rooted to the spot for Serge Aurier's goal, but still made three saves.

Willy Boly - 6.21: Booked for his troubles midway through the second half. Hardly pulled up any tress in defence, but he did enough to help Wolves to all three points.

Conor Coady - 6.24: Not an outstanding display by any stretch, but he is held in high regard by Wolves and it's easy to see why as he marshalled the three-man defence.

Romain Saiss - 7.65: As Tottenham pushed for an equaliser, he was dominant in the air, winning eight aerial duels. Eight clearances, three tackles and three interceptions showed just why he is starting ahead of Leander Dendoncker for Wolves.

Matt Doherty - 8.19: Could make no mistake to draw Wolves level midway through the first half as he continued his good form from close range, capitalising on some fairly lacklustre Tottenham defending.

Ruben Neves - 6.50: Not a memorable performance, but he did little wrong in the middle of the park as he again worked well alongside compatriot Joao Moutinho.

Joao Moutinho - 7.20: A fine showing from the experienced Portuguese midfielder. May not have dictated the tempo, yet his battling display didn't allow Tottenham to settle as he made four tackles.

Ruben Vinagre - 7.56: Beaten too easily by Serge Aurier for his goal as he allowed the Tottenham right-back to cut onto his, admittedly weaker, left foot to bury past Rui Patricio. He recovered well from that to put in a solid shift in the absence of Jonny.

Adama Traore - 7.23: Created Wolves' first decent chance of the match as he did well to beat Ben Davies to the byline before lofting towards Diogo Jota to the back post. Was excellent in the build up for Jota's goal as he drove the ball forward before finding Matt Doherty to put in a low cross for the Portuguese forward to net his sixth goal from his last three outings. Far more influential when moved into the middle for the second half as he exploited Spurs' lack of holding midfielder, with three of his four successful dribbles coming after the break.

Raul Jimenez - 8.30: Put Wolves ahead for the first time on the day with 15 minutes to play, finishing off a fine move as he sold Japhet Tanganga before tucking past Paulo Gazzaniga. Could have had a second as Tottenham pushed for an equaliser, only to fire over as he worked the ball onto his left.

Diogo Jota - 8.62: Presented with Wolves' first decent chance, but blasted over having been picked out by Adama Traore. Influential in Matt Doherty's goal having gotten the better of Davinson Sanchez and could have drawn Wolves level early in the second half, only to head over from eight yards. Made no mistake 10 minutes after the restart as he notched his first and Wolves' second from two yards out to make it six goals from his last three appearances. Turned provider for Raul Jimenez with a magnificent solo run as he held off challenges from Lucas Moura and Serge Aurier down the left.

Subs: Pedro Neto - 6.26, Leander Dendoncker - 6.04, Daniel Podence - 5.96
