Yahoo! Fantasy Football: Rampant Manchester City to continue goal frenzy

WhoScored.com’s partnership with Yahoo! Fantasy Football continues this weekend as we return with some tips ahead of Gameweek 5 in the Premier League.

We’ve entered our XI into the £5 contest and now have the chance to win up to £10,000! There is some serious money to be made on Yahoo! Fantasy Football so don’t miss out.

Before running through our XI for the weekend, it’s worth pointing out you have £200 to spend. The contest we have entered means we have to spend that money on players that will only feature in Saturday’s matches (excluding the 12:30 KO).

Make sure you head to team and preview pages to find out which players are in-form on Yahoo! Fantasy Football. Now, here’s our team:

Yahoo! Fantasy Football: Rampant Manchester City to continue goal frenzy

Goalkeeper – JONAS LOSSL (HUDDERSFIELD)

Huddersfield may have slipped to defeat in their last match, but it’s been a very impressive start from the newly promoted Premier League side. Jonas Lossl has kept clean sheets in three of their opening four matches and a return to home soil should only benefit the Terriers.

They welcome a Leicester side that have only won one league game so far this season and only one of their last seven away league matches. Huddersfield should be eyeing another three points this weekend, while Lossl is also in for a shout of picking up another clean sheet.

Defender – BEN DAVIES (TOTTENHAM)

Ben Davies has quietly gone about becoming one of Tottenham’s most consistent performers this season and Danny Rose faces a real fight to regain his place in the team when fit. The Wales international faces former club Swansea this weekend in the form of his life and is now starting to add creativity in the final third to his arsenal.

In fact, only Mesut Ozil and Henrikh Mkhitaryan (both 15) have created more goalscoring chances in the Premier League this season than the 24-year-old (13). With one goal and one assist to his name already, Davies has made a blinding start to the season. He is also a Yahoo! Top-20 form player.

Defender – DAVINSON SANCHEZ (TOTTENHAM)

Davinson Sanchez has made a thoroughly impressive transition into the Tottenham XI since becoming the club’s most expensive player of all-time. He only appears to have made Tottenham’s defence even stronger and is an unbelievably cheap option on Yahoo! Fantasy Football this weekend. He isn’t likely to stay that cheap for long, so make sure you take advantage when Spurs host Swansea on Saturday.

Defender – JAMAAL LASCELLES (NEWCASTLE)

Newcastle are looking to make it three wins on the spin this weekend and the Magpies haven’t even conceded a goal in that run. Rafa Benitez’s side welcome Stoke on Saturday with the bit between their teeth and, in Lascelles, have a defender that is really growing as a leader for the team.

The 23-year-old was named the WhoScored Man of the Match after scoring the winner against Swansea last weekend and will be looking to carry that good form against the Potters.

Midfielder – ROBBIE BRADY (BURNLEY)

If the last few games have shown anything about Liverpool, it’s that they are still hopeless at defending. Burnley are expected to come up short against Jurgen Klopp’s side on Saturday, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they won’t have some joy.

Burnley have made an impressive start to the season but will need to be on point in attack to take advantage of any Liverpool mistake, which is why someone of Robbie Brady’s quality, whipping balls into dangerous areas, could be the way to go if you fancy Burnley to cause Liverpool some damage.

Midfielder – KEVIN DE BRUYNE (MANCHESTER CITY)

An early favourite for the PFA Player of the Year award, you simply have to get Kevin De Bruyne in your team at whatever the cost. The Belgium international has been in scintillating form this season, registering three assists in his last two matches for Manchester City.

Pep Guardiola’s side thumped Watford 5-0 in this fixture last season and come into this match having scored nine goals over their last two outings. They finally look to be playing the football Guardiola wants and you have to take advantage of that here.

Midfielder – AARON MOOY (HUDDERSFIELD)

Key to Huddersfield’s success this season has been Aaron Mooy in central midfield. Everything positive seems to come through the Australia international, highlighted by the fact he is a Yahoo! Top-20 Form player.

Mooy has one goal and one assist to his name after four matches and should be confident of playing another decisive role for the Terriers when they welcome a meek Leicester side this weekend.

Midfielder – ALEX OXLADE-CHAMBERLAIN (LIVERPOOL)

With Jurgen Klopp set to shuffle his pack, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain could finally make his full Liverpool debut this weekend. The England international has so far been limited to substitute appearances and he will be eager to turn in a big performance to climb the pecking order in a highly competitive midfield at Anfield.

The all-action midfielder is a stat machine and is capable of racking up points in all areas of Yahoo! Fantasy Football. After establishing himself as one of Arsenal’s most consistent performers this calendar year, it’s time to do the same for Klopp’s side.

Utility – MOHAMED SALAH (LIVERPOOL)

After a fairly disastrous spell at Chelsea, Liverpool were mocked for their decision to make Mohamed Salah the club’s most expensive player of all-time, but the Egypt international has already shown his importance for Liverpool in the opening month of the season.

Salah has already played a direct hand in five goals in six competitive starts for Liverpool and if he can refine his finishing then he should develop into one of the league’s most dangerous attackers.

Striker – SERGIO AGUERO (MANCHESTER CITY)

Many expected Sergio Aguero to fade out of the picture this season, but the complete opposite has happened. There were questions about whether Aguero and Gabriel Jesus could play up front together and they have already shown what a dynamic strike force they can be.

Aguero has already scored twice in the Premier League this season and will looking to add to that tally when City travel to Watford on a ground he has fond recent memories. The Argentina international scored a brace in this corresponding fixture and he’ll be eager to extend that record on Saturday.

Striker – ANDY CARROLL (WEST HAM)

West Ham’s season has been fairly disastrous up until this point, but the return of Andy Carroll at least managed to help the Hammers to their first win of the season on Monday. Carroll looked eager to make up for lost time and was a handful for Huddersfield all evening, winning a seasonal record 13 aerial duels.

The 28-year-old will relish the chance to go up against West Brom’s dogged defence and there should only be one winner in that clash, as there is whenever anyone tries to stop Carroll. The West Ham No.9 has only ever scored more goals against Swansea (6) than he has against West Brom (5) in his career.
