Of course, it wouldn’t be fair to overlook Alberto’s partner in crime Ciro Immobile and the former Liverpool man is joined by his Italian teammate after a storming month in a Lazio shirt. The striker has scored more goals in Europe’s top 5 leagues this season (14) than any other player and chipped in with six goals and three assists over October, including a brace in the aforementioned 2-1 win at Juventus.

That isn’t to say a Juventus player did not impress over the course of the month, with youngster Daniele Rugani featuring in the side on the back of three notable performances in defence. He scored one and assisted another in a 6-2 win at Udinese and made a respectable 17 clearances to earn a WhoScored rating of 7.59. Alongside him stands Raul Albiol, with the Napoli man mustering an impressive 92.7% pass success rate to help keep Napoli at the top of the table.

Roma star Aleksandar Kolarov has made a stunning start to life in Italy and maintained his good form in October, netting once last month to help gain a WhoScored.com rating of 7.68. The Serbian left-back was solid defensively, too, making eight interceptions and three tackles. On the opposite flank, Ali Adnan impressed after coming into the Udinese XI late in October and while his first start of the league season was a forgettable 6-2 defeat to Juventus, his form picked up late on as he made a combined 20 tackles and interceptions last month.

The defensive quartet are charged with protecting the experienced Christian Puggioni between the sticks, with the Sampdoria goalkeeper making a commendable 17 saves across three appearances in October. Puggioni isn’t the only Sampdoria representative, with youngster Lucas Torreira starring in midfield after the Uruguayan scored two and registered a further assist in October to help keep Sampdoria in the top-6. 23-year-old Fiorentina man Marco Benassi partners up with Torreira in the middle of the park. The Italian scored three and added a further assist, all the while returning eight key passes and five successful dribbles.
