Parma ace pips PSG star to player of the week award

 

There are two perfect 10s in our European team of the week as PSG and Parma secured stunning wins over Nice and Genoa, respectively, while the sole Premier League representative comes in the form of an Aston Villa ace in the first best XI from Europe's top five leagues following the international break.

Dijon held Lyon to a 0-0 draw on Saturday and they have goalkeeper Alfred Gomis to thank for the point. The Senegalese shotstopper was impenetrable at Parc OL as he made 10 saves, that a record in a Ligue 1 match this season, to help return a fine WhoScored rating of 9.67.

The Belgian gained a WhoScored rating of 8.74 in the comfortable victory as he made four clearances, four tackles and three interceptions to go with his goal in a fine clean sheet attaining display. 

 

Centre-back: Dominos Duarte (Granada) - 8.47 rating

With a WhoScored rating of 8.47, Domingos Duarte partners Bornauw at the heart of the defence as Granada helped themselves to yet another clean sheet in LaLiga this season. The 24-year-old scored the only goal of the game in a 1-0 win over Osasuna and was defensively sound having made three clearances, three interceptions and one tackle in the narrow victory. 

 

Left-back: Matt Targett (Aston Villa) - 8.76 rating

The first of two Parma representatives, Dejan Kulusevski has made a stunning start to life with the Crociati following his loan arrival from Atalanta. He landed a WhoScored rating of 9.53 in Parma's 5-1 demolition of Genoa on Sunday having had a direct hand in three of their five goals. The Swede's one goal came from three shots and two assists from four key passes, while three successful dribbles capped a fine performance from the teen.
