Vicario one of two Tottenham players in Premier League Team of the Week

 

Tottenham, Bournemouth and Burnley have two players each in the Premier League team of the week following respective wins over Everton, Nottingham Forest and Fulham. Newcastle, Luton, West Ham and Wolves are also represented in the best XI. 

 

Guglielmo Vicario (Tottenham) - 8.42 rating 

 

Tottenham made it three wins on the spin but they had to work hard for all the spoils against Everton on Saturday. Guglielmo Vicario is the first of two Spurs representatives having made seven saves and three high ball claims on his way to a WhoScored rating of 8.42. 

 

Kieran Trippier (Newcastle) - 8.33 

 

Newcastle's away winless run continued at Luton's expense on Saturday but Kieran Trippier still did enough to make the team of the week at right-back. Trippier was unfortunate not to register an assist at Kenilworth Road as he made five key passes and eight accurate crosses, the latter a record in a Premier League match this season. 

 

Marcos Senesi (Bournemouth) - 7.49 

 

The first of two Bournemouth players in the side, Marcos Senesi registered his second assist of the Premier League campaign at Nottingham Forest on Saturday afternoon from one of three key passes. In addition, the Argentine made four clearances and two interceptions to book his spot in the side. 

 

Gabriel Osho (Luton) - 7.38 

 

Back to Kenilworth Road now, and Gabriel Osho partners Senesi at the back having earned a WhoScored rating of 7.38 in Luton's win over Newcastle. The 25-year-old kept things tight at the back as he made seven clearances, three tackles and two interceptions in a clean-sheet attaining display. 

 

Emerson Royal (Tottenham) - 8.54 

 

Rounding off the defence is Emerson Royal, who deputised well for Destiny Udogie at left-back against Everton. Emerson held firm at the back as he made eight interceptions, five tackles and five clearances to help Tottenham to all the spoils on Saturday afternoon. The 24-year-old also found a teammate with 92.2% of his 51 attempted passes to nail down his spot in the side. 

 

Mohammed Kudus (West Ham) - 8.29 

 

For the second gameweek running, Mohammed Kudus occupies the right wing spot in the Premier League team of the week. Kudus netted his sixth league goal of the season in West Ham's 2-0 win over Manchester United, beating Andre Onana with one of two shots, and completed six dribbles in a performance that returned a WhoScored rating of 8.29.

Mario Lemina (Wolves) - 8.54 

 

The star player from Wolves' 2-1 win over Chelsea on Christmas Eve, Mario Lemina put Gary O'Neil's side ahead shortly after the break at Molineux, netting with one of three shots. In addition, Lemina also made six tackles, four tackles and two clearances to help Wolves to all the spoils. 

 

Sander Berge (Burnley) - 8.22 

 

Partnering Lemina in the middle of the park is the first of two Burnley representatives. Sander Berge put in his best rated performance of the season as the Clarets secured an impressive 2-0 win at Fulham on Saturday afternoon. Berge netted his first league goal of the campaign with one of three shots, and protected the Clarets backline well, too, as he made four tackles and two interceptions. 

 

Wilson Odobert (Burnley) - 8.00 

 

Berge's club teammate completes the midfield. Wilson Odobert was directly involved in both Burnley goals as the Clarets beat Fulham 2-0 at Craven Cottage. The teenager put Vincent Kompany's side ahead shortly after the break, beating Bernd Leno with his only shot, and followed that up with the assist for Sander Berge's 66th minute goal with one of two key passes. 

 

Dominic Solanke (Bournemouth) - 9.95 

 

The second Bournemouth player in the side, Dominic Solanke is the Premier League player of the week as he maintained his excellent goalscoring form. Solanke bagged a hat-trick in Bournemouth's 3-2 win at Nottingham Forest, hitting the back of the net with three of six shots. The 26-year-old was also on hand to win six aerial duels and make three clearances as he garnered a WhoScored rating of 9.95. 

 

Chris Wood (Nottingham Forest) - 9.25 

 

Remaining at the City Ground, Chris Wood partners Solanke in attack in the Premier League team of the week. Wood was directly involved in both Nottingham Forest goals in their eventual 3-2 loss to Bournemouth, following up his assist for Anthony Elanga's goal shortly after half time with his fourth league goal of the campaign in the 74th minute. Those came from respective returns of two key passes and four shots.
