Netherlands dominate UEFA Nations League best rated XI

Netherlands plunged the Germany national team into further crisis after thumping Joachim Low’s side 3-0 on Saturday night. Ronald Koeman is trying to lead Holland’s own revolution on the international stage and now the German Football Federation need to decide who will lead theirs.

Koeman’s side are unsurprisingly the best represented nation from the latest batch of UEFA Nations League A matches. Captain Virgil van Dijk is joined by Daley Blind, Memphis Depay and midfield duo Georginio Wijnaldum and Marten de Roon.

Depay, Van Dijk and Wijnaldum got on the scoresheet at the Johan Cruyff Arena, while Blind was the provider for Wijnaldum, who rubber-stamped all three points in second half injury time. De Roon played a key part in midfield, breaking down German attacks with six tackles and interceptions combined and four clearances.

Depay finished as our highest WhoScored rated player from all League A matches (8.67) and has now scored seven goals in his last 10 appearances for the Dutch national team.

The Lyon striker is joined in attack in the WhoScored best rated XI by Belgium’s record scorer, Romelu Lukaku. The Manchester United striker has endured a slump for his club but is always among the goals for the Belgian Red Devils.

Lukaku scored another brace for Roberto Martinez’s side, this time against Switzerland in a 2-1 victory. The 25-year-old has scored at least two goals in eight of his last 18 matches for Belgium, earning a WhoScored rating of 8.14 for his brace on Friday.

Portugal have had to make do without Cristiano Ronaldo for their entire UEFA Nations League campaign but have done just fine. The Euro 2016 champions have won their opening two matches, following up a 1-0 win over Italy in September with a 3-2 victory against Poland on Thursday.

Wingers Bernardo Silva and Rafa both make the best rated XI for their performances, while Andre Silva misses out due to the performances of Lukaku and Depay.
