Germany vs Denmark: Euro 2024 hosts dominate combined XI

With tournament hosts Germany getting their knockout stage campaign underway against Denmark on Saturday night, we take a look at the combined XI between the two nations. 

Germany have impressed on their way to last-16 as they claimed seven points from three games to claim top spot in Group A. Denmark were far from their best but did enough to progress alongside England and Slovenia from Group C to meet the tournament hosts. 

However, it's Denmark goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel who edges out Manuel Neuer between the sticks in this XI. Schmeichel has a better rating than his Bayern counterpart by 0.01, with the Danish shotstopper returning a WhoScored rating of 6.38. 

In a 4-3-3 setup, German pair Joshua Kimmich and Maximilian Mittelstadt feature at right and left-back, respectively, while Denmark pair Joachim Andersen and Jannik Vestergaard featuring at the heart of the backline. 

Christian Eriksen has made more key passes (13) than any other player at Euro 2024 and features in the middle of the park and is the fourth and final Denmark representative in this combined XI. Toni Kroos and Ilkay Gundogan join Eriksen in this side. 

Jamal Musiala (7.77) is the best rated player to feature in this combined XI and is joined on the frontline by compatriots Kai Havertz and Florian Wirtz with hosts Germany dominating this team. 

Supporters will be hoping Germany will secure their place in the quarter-finals, with the cominbed XI suggesting Julian Nagelsmann's side knock Denmark out this weekend.
