Brighton headed into the 2023/24 campaign on a high as they geared up for their first season in the Europa League. However, after a bright start, the Seagulls struggled with the demands of European and domestic football, with their season culminating in the departure of Roberto De Zerbi. 

Key Player - Lewis Dunk 

With a new manager at the helm, Fabian Hurzeler will look to captain Lewis Dunk to ensure the 31-year-old makes a bright start to life on the south coast. Dunk finished the Premier League season second for passes per game (97.3) and returned the ninth best pass success rate (92.5%) in England's top tier, and his influence is crucial. 

Signing to Watch - Mats Wieffer 

Pascal Gross' move to Borussia Dortmund is a blow for Brighton and they have moved to ease his exit with the capture of Mats Wieffer from Dutch side Feyenoord. Rumours had suggested Wieffer would follow Arne Slot to Liverpool but Brighton won the race to land the 24-year-old. The Dutchman won possession in the midfield third more times (143) than any other player in the Eredivisie last season. 

Predicted finish - 11th 

Betting tip 

Brighton finished the campaign just one point outside of the bottom half, and while we've backed the Seagulls to finish 11th, it wouldn't be a surprise to see the south coast side land a top-half finish.
