Matz Sels (Nottingham Forest) - 7.54

Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Matz Sels was a huge part of an unbeaten October for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side, with his performance in the home victory over Crystal Palace his best rated of the season so far (8.33).

Aaron Wan-Bissaka (West Ham) - 7.33

Julen Lopetegui’s side showed signs of a resurgence through October, with two victories from their three matches over the course of the month. Right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka was among the Hammers’ strongest performers, making six tackles, seven interceptions and 12 clearances.

Nathan Collins (Brentford) - 7.40

One of two Brentford defenders at the heart of our backline is Ireland international Nathan Collins, who is yet to miss a minute for Thomas Frank’s side so far this season. Collins scored in the 5-3 victory over former side Wolves at the beginning of the month, before playing a part in the 4-3 win against Ipswich on the weekend.

Ethan Pinnock (Brentford) - 7.73

Collins is joined by defensive partner Ethan Pinnock, who scored in back-to-back Premier League matches in October, against both Wolves and Manchester United. The 31-year-old then brought up 100 Premier League appearances in the win over Ipswich at the weekend, making 22 clearances and winning 11 aerial duels throughout the month.

Josko Gvardiol (Manchester City) - 7.45

Manchester City defender Josko Gvardiol netted his second league goal of the season in fine fashion against Wolves during October, as the champions maintained an unbeaten start to the campaign with wins against Gary O’Neil’s side, as well as Fulham and Southampton. The Croatia international managed five shots, six key passes and 10 clearances over the course of the month.

Facundo Buonanotte (Leicester) - 7.89

Leicester loanee Facundo Buonanotte continued his fine start to the season in October, scoring his second and third goals of the campaign - in wins over Bournemouth and Southampton. In the month’s three matches, the teenager managed 12 shots on goal, six key passes and eight successful dribbles, to return a WhoScored rating of 7.89.

Casemiro (Manchester United) - 7.58

Perhaps to some surprise given the team's collective struggles, Manchester United midfielder Casemiro makes our Team of the Month having earned an average WhoScored rating of 7.58, for performances against Aston Villa, Brentford and West Ham. The Brazilian turned in a fine display in the victory over Brentford, before scoring a late equaliser against the Hammers - his two highest rated showings of the season so far.

Mikkel Damsgaard (Brentford) - 7.67

Brentford midfielder Mikkel Damsgaard earns a place in our XI after providing three assists throughout October, in the games against Wolves and Manchester United. In all, the Denmark international mustered 11 key passes, three successful dribbles and four tackles, for a WhoScored rating of 7.67.
