WhoScored Tipster: The Top Tips in Europe this Weekend

Fans will have to wait until Monday to witness the best of the weekend’s action, which is a round of fixtures that takes place during the latest bout of European encounters, a factor to take under consideration before betting.

NAPOLI vs AC MILAN - Draw first half @2.37

It was clear that Napoli were distracted in their Europa League game on Thursday having recently sacrificed top spot in Serie A to Juventus. Nevertheless, in Villarreal it would have been difficult to secure a positive result, given the Spanish side’s impressive home form. In Spain, Napoli played seven of their usual starting XI and at the San Paolo will host a Milan side that while is inconsistent, at least stick to their game plan and will face Higuain & co with a fully fit squad.

It could take some time for Napoli to break down Milan. The Partenopei have been drawing at half time in two of their last three home games. A draw at half time is currently available at 2.37 with Bet365. Napoli must be wary, however, as the WhoScored Match Forecast suggests it is likely that Milan ‘will create many scoring chances’.

ATLETICO vs VILLARREAL - Draw first half/Atletico second half @3.60

The Europa League game in Villarreal won't have affected just Napoli. Villarreal will have to call on all their energy reserves at the Calderon, while Atletico will have one eye on their Champions League meeting with PSV next week. The Yellow Submarines will initially remain compact, but Los Colchoneros can't afford to draw after they slipped six points behind Barcelona following the Blaugrana’s win in Gijon on Wednesday. In Atletico's last four home games in La Liga, they have been drawing at half time and then gone on to win three of those four.

BAYER LEVERKUSEN vs BORUSSIA DORTMUND - Borussia Dortmund to win first half @2.75

The match between the two pretenders to Bayern’s throne, even Dortmund seem unlikely to offer any serious competition to the title. Both teams will be recovering from a Europa League fixture, but Leverkusen had to travel back from Lisbon, and more importantly a 1-0 win still leaves their tie against Sporting open-ended ahead of the return leg next week. In 3 of their last 4 away games Dortmund have been leading at half time, while Bayer Leverkusen, despite being third, only sit 8th in terms of their home record. There is only one scenario predicted by WhoScored’s match forecast, with Borussia Dortmund ‘extremely likely’ to score as a result of an opposition error.

HOFFENHEIM vs MAINZ - Mainz to win @2.80

These may be the best odds of the week. In form Mainz are two points from a Champions League spot, while Hoffenheim are 6 points adrift of safety. Moreover, Mainz hold the fifth best away record and have won 3 in a row overall, while Hoffenheim have third worst points tally at home, and their form is absolutely awful, without a win in 5 games since the Bundesliga returned from its winter break.

BORDEAUX vs NICE - Both teams to score @1.90

The odds on both teams scoring in Ligue 1 are always pretty generous, as the average number of goals scored is the lowest among Europe’s top 5 leagues. This is a game between the second and fifth best attacks though, and Bordeaux also have the third worst defence. The WhoScored match forecast predicts ‘likely’ situations involving both teams scoring, an epilogue mirrored when looking at the history of the game, as it has happened in 5 of their last 6 encounters. Last but not least, at the moment both are plagued by an incredible amount of injuries.
