Fanteam Fantasy Football: In-form England trio to shine in gameweek 16

For this weekend we are focusing on the contest open to every Premier League game in gameweek 16, with the lucky winner granted a direct qualifying spot into the World Championship of Fantasy Football at the end of the month.

If, for some reason, you’ve been living underground for the last few weeks and haven’t heard about the World Championship of Fantasy Football then you’re in for a treat. Fanteam Fantasy Football are giving you the chance to enter 2020 with a bang. Over gameweek 28 and 29 in the Premier League, 100 of you will be competing for a prize pool of €100,000, with the winner guaranteed at least €30,000!

You can either pay a €1,050 buy-in to get straight into the contest or pay substantially less in qualifying contests in the run-in to Christmas. For example, the winner of this weekend’s full Premier League round, which will only cost you €11 or €55, will go straight into the World Championship of Fantasy Football, on top of a share of potentially €2,500.

As always, we have picked our XI for this weekend’s contest and are kindly sharing it with you to help you with your own selections.

Marcus Rashford (Manchester United) - 5.6M

Manchester United will be full of confidence heading into Saturday’s derby after turning in their best display of the season in Wednesday’s 2-1 win at home to Tottenham. Marcus Rashford improved his record in the big games with a brace to ensure Jose Mourinho’s return to Old Trafford was a sour one.

In addition to goals against Tottenham, Rashford has also scored in matches against Chelsea, Liverpool and Leicester this season. He has netted eight goals across those games and also has pedigree in Manchester derbies, with two goals against them in the past. While City are favourites on Saturday, they have not kept a clean sheet in any of their last eight matches in all competitions and Rashford is certainly in the right frame to exploit them at the back.

Tammy Abraham (Chelsea) - 11M

Tammy Abraham illustrated his importance to Chelsea after playing a key role in their 2-1 win over Aston Villa in midweek on his return from injury. The England international missed last weekend’s defeat to West Ham but played a direct hand in both goals as Chelsea sunk his former club on Wednesday night.

Abraham has answered all of his critics this season and is now arguably regarded one of Chelsea’s most important players. The 22-year-old has impressively played a direct hand in 14 goals in as many league games this season (11 goals, three assists), with nine of those coming away from home. Everton are in miserable form at the moment after sacking Marco Silva following their Merseyside defeat in midweek. Abraham is perfectly poised to prolong his good form against a poor Everton outfit.

Dele Alli (Tottenham) - 12.3M

Tottenham may have suffered their first defeat of Jose Mourinho’s tenure in midweek but it was another eye-catching outing for Dele Alli, who is rejuvenated since Mauricio Pochettino’s departure.

Alli restored parity against United with an outrageous piece of skill to make it three goals in as many matches and match his best scoring run since netting in four straight matches in March 2017.

Tottenham will now aim to get back to winning ways with a home match with Burnley on Saturday. The Clarets have lost successive matches in the space of four days and conceded six goals in that time. Sean Dyche’s side have also lost five of their last six away to Tottenham.
