European Team Form Rankings: Liverpool into top five, while Bayern blitz Dortmund
A fifth win in their last six Premier League games has helped Liverpool jump into fifth, and level with Manchester City in the European team form rankings ahead of their Champions League showdown.
The Reds are the top scorers in England’s top-flight over the last six games (16), while Pep Guardiola’s side also won for the fifth time in that period with the victory over Everton that was all sewn up in the first half.
Ahead of the Premier League pair, Bayern Munich are the biggest risers, and unsurprisingly so, climbing eight places into third after humiliating rivals Borussia Dortmund in Der Klassiker.
There was a chance that Jupp Heynckes side could have won the title had Schalke slipped up, but S04’s victory earlier in the day took any pressure off the league leaders shoulders as they strolled to a 6-0 win over BVB courtesy of a hat-trick from former Dortmund star Robert Lewandowski.
The Bavarians leapfrog the likes of Barcelona (sixth), Roma (seventh) and Tottenham (tenth), but are still some way off the top two.
It’s Real Madrid that continue to lead the way after a comfortable 3-0 win over lowly Las Palmas in the absence of Cristiano Ronaldo, while PSG stay second having not featured in Ligue 1 this weekend owing to a 3-0 Coupe de la Ligue final victory over Monaco.
