Simon Mignolet - £9.0m (home vs Newcastle)
Only Fraser Forster (13) has kept more Premier League clean sheets than Simon Mignolet (11) this season. The Belgian has impressed since coming back into the Liverpool starting XI and chances are he will add to his clean sheet total against Newcastle on Monday night. The Magpies have failed to win any of their last 4 league games away from home and have not found the net in their last 318 minutes of Premier League action on the road.
Alberto Moreno - £6.4m (home vs Newcastle)
With Newcastle’s current goalscoring woes, we are confident of adding a second Liverpool player into the defensive ranks. As well as solidifying the defence, Alberto Moreno will be expected to provide width for the Reds and support the attack at any given opportunity. Having gained a statistically calculated WhoScored weakness of ‘defending against attacks down the wings’, the Magpies may struggle to contain the Spaniard once he gains a head of steam.
Toby Alderweireld - £8.8m (home vs Hull)
Southampton have conceded just 1 goal in their last 4 league games at St Mary's in which Toby Alderweireld has started. Furthermore, only Chelsea (7) have shipped fewer goals at home in the Premier League this season than Saints (10). Given Hull have netted just 2 goals in their last 6 league games away from home, the Belgian has what it takes to help shut out the relegation threatened Tigers.
Héctor Bellerín - £7.2m (away vs Burnley)
The young Spaniard bagged the opener for Arsenal in their 4-1 win over Liverpool prior to the international break and Bellerín has all but made the starting right-back spot his own for the Gunners after a series of notable performances way beyond his tender years. A majority of Burnley’s attacks this season have come down their right flank (42%), which could open up the chance for Bellerín to push forward and support the attack on the opposite side, while the Clarets have also scored just 1 goal in their last 5 league games, so a clean sheet is a possibility.
Matthew Phillips - £8m (home vs Chelsea)
After failing to establish himself under Harry Redknapp, Matthew Phillips has really come into his own with Chris Ramsey at the helm. The Scotland international has directly contributed to 9 of QPR’s last 14 Premier League goals in the Hoops’ survival bid and only Barcelona star Lionel Messi (8) has registered more league assists in 2015 than Phillips (7). Their best route to goal when they face Chelsea on Sunday will likely be through the 24-year-old once again.
Ander Herrera - £12.5m (home vs Manchester City)
Having initially struggled to hold down a regular starting spot following his big money arrival from Athletic Club, Ander Herrera is now one of the first names on the Manchester United teamsheet. The Spanish midfielder has now directly contributed to 3 of United’s last 5 league goals and will be expected to provide the drive from midfield in the Manchester Derby against a City side that has lost each of their last 3 league games away from home.
Jason Puncheon - £7.6m (away vs Sunderland)
Sunderland will have been buoyed by their derby win over fierce rivals Newcastle United on Sunday, but Crystal Palace travel to the Stadium of Light in high spirits themselves. The Eagles inflicted City’s 6th league defeat of the season on Monday night, with set piece specialist Jason Puncheon crucial to victory. Puncheon netted the eventual winner with a splendid second half free-kick and with Palace boasting a WhoScored strength of ‘attacking set pieces’, the 28-year-old attacker has a crucial role to play in this one, especially with 5 of his 7 league assists this term coming from a set piece situation.
Christian Eriksen - £9.8m (home vs Aston Villa)
The Dane may have gone off the boil somewhat in recent weeks, but Christian Eriksen remains a player who can create something out of nothing. The young Tottenham playmaker will be looking to get back to his best when Tim Sherwood returns to White Hart Lane this weekend. WhoScored’s match forecast suggests Tottenham ‘will score a long shot’ and given Eriksen boasts a strength of ‘long shots’, the 23-year-old has the ability to net his first league goal since Spurs’ 3-0 win at West Brom back in January this coming Saturday.
Christian Benteke - £10.3m (away vs Tottenham)
In 83 minutes against QPR, Christian Benteke netted 13% of Aston Villa’s 23 league goals this season and it is clear that the Belgian looks back to his best having directly contributed to 8 of Villa’s last 10 Premier League goals. Meanwhile WhoScored’s unique rating system shows Benteke is one of the in-form strikers in England’s top-tier at present and though Villa come into the fixture as the underdogs, don’t bet on Spurs keeping a clean sheet in this one. Mauricio Pochettino’s side have failed to shut out an opposition side in the league at White Hart Lane since the 0-0 draw with Manchester United back in December and only West Brom (23) have shipped more goals at home in the Premier League this season than Spurs (22).
Bafétimbi Gomis - £12.4m (home vs Everton)
Three of Bafétimbi Gomis’ five Premier League goals this season have come in his last 2 league appearances as the Frenchman strives to settle in England. In the wake of Wilfried Bony’s big money switch to Manchester City, the former Lyon frontman is now considered Swansea City’s leading striker and he is beginning to repay the faith shown in him by manager Garry Monk. Everton, meanwhile, have kept just 2 clean sheets away from home in the Premier League all season and Gomis, therefore, will be confident of adding to his tally when the Toffees make the trip to the Liberty Stadium.
Glenn Murray - £6.7m (away vs Sunderland)
Included for the second consecutive week, Glenn Murray has established himself as the Eagles’ first choice frontman having overcome his injury woes. Five goals in his last five appearances - and WhoScored man of the match awards against Stoke and Manchester City - have kickstarted the 31-year-old’s Premier League career and pushed Palace to within 3 points of the top half of the table. A cheaper striking option, Murray could well be an astute addition to the team, especially given Sunderland’s lacklustre defence at the Stadium of Light this campaign.
Think you can beat this team? Then why not prove it in this week's You vs WhoScored contest over at Mondogoal
