Arsenal star earns highest rating in November Premier League Best XI
Shkodran Mustafi was the star man in the Premier League last month according to WhoScored.com’s unique statistical ratings, with his return to the Arsenal line-up coinciding with three consecutive clean sheets in November.
The German international was awarded the man of the match rating in each of his appearances against Tottenham (8.41) and Burnley (8.11), scoring in the 2-0 win over the Gunners’ arch rivals.
Elsewhere former Arsenal stopper Lukasz Fabianski takes his place between the posts for his efforts for struggling Swansea, while there are two spots for Everton too, as they begin to build some momentum.
Record signing Gylfi Sigurdsson has finally begun to prove his worth after a slow start to his Toffees career, taking his place on the right ahead of young teammate Jonjoe Kenny. The 20-year-old made 27 tackles and interceptions combined in November, which is a tally only clubmate Idrissa Gueye could better.
Ashley Young deserved his spot on the opposite side of the defence with man of the match ratings against both Newcastle (8.65) and Watford (8.84). He registered an assist against the former before bagging a brace at Vicerage Road having also forced the match winning own goal against Brighton.
Burnley’s James Tarkowski completes the backline and continues his fine start to the season having stepped up to replace Michael Keane. The centre-back ranked among the top ten players in the league for interceptions last month (11) and the top five for clearances (31).
Watford’s Richarlison is in on the left wing having scored against Everton and West Ham before registering an assist at Newcastle, while the spine of the side in attack is fearsome to say the least.
The returning Paul Pogba partners Kevin De Bruyne in an all Manchester central midfield, with four goals and two assists between them in November, while it’s Chelsea past and present up front.
Mo Salah bagged seven goals last month alone, which was at least four more than any other player, while Eden Hazard scored two, registered an assist and completed a league high 22 dribbles across four appearances, including the most in a single game all season against Liverpool (10).
