Juventus vs Inter - Match Preview

In the title race, unbeaten Juve could probably not have hoped for a better time to host Inter, a club who have lurched from one crisis to another this season.

While the hosts have drawn too many games recently, Inter’s record of just one win from their last six makes them big outsiders, and while Juve’s price of 1.61 to win seems fair, it is not particularly appetising.

Instead, we shall look to the goals markets for some inspiration, and there seems to be some value.

Claudio Ranieri’s side have failed to get going in front of goal this season, but particularly on their travels. In fact, 8 of their last 9 away games have gone under 2.5 goals, which, when twinned with the fact that Juventus boast the best defence in the league, makes 1.75 for the unders a great bet for Sunday evening’s big game.

Real Zaragoza vs Atletico Madrid - Match Preview

Atletico Madrid go to Zaragoza with some up and down form, but knowing that the home side are rock bottom and seemingly destined for relegation, they will be confident of three points at La Romareda.

The stats back up their chances, with the Colchoneros having won their last three games against Zaragoza and considering the hosts have the worst home record in the league this season, they’re rightfully 1.8 favourites.

This seems a more than fair price given the attack at Atleti’s disposal, particularly the creative talents of Arda Turan and the predatory prowess of Radamel Falcao.

Diego Simeone’s side haven’t been particularly attacking, inkeeping with his management style at Racing Club in Argentina, and with Zaragoza’s defence far more effective at home, the under 2.5 goals at 1.85 is well worth considering.

The WhoScored style analysis tells us that the visitors are particularly proficient at crossing and scoring from wingplay situations, with arguably the best header of the ball in world football playing, Falcao to score first at 4.00 has to be worth a small stake bet.

Norwich vs Wolves - Match Preview

Paul Lambert’s Norwich haven’t been on great form of late, but they will view this weekend’s visit of Wolves as an opportunity to get back to winning ways for the first time in five games.

Terry Connor’s time at Wolves since being named manager has seen three defeats from four games, and they look a side lacking in confidence and organisation. When confidence is low, conceding a goal can have an even more devastating effect on team morale and judging by their last three games – where they’ve been losing at both half-time and full-time – the Wanderers don’t have the mental fortitude, nor the inspiration from the manager, to mount a second half comeback. The odds for Norwich/Norwich (HT/FT) are 2.6.

Being fair to Wolves though, they have only failed to score in four away games this season, and with Norwich expected to find the net at home, perhaps it’s no surprise to see Both Teams to Score as low as 1.66 in the betting.

Usually there is some value to be had in the goalscorers betting, especially when a team is strong at set pieces like Norwich. However, most of their goals that have come from set pieces this season are ones that have done so indirectly, and Lambert has also rotated his team regularly, meaning that it is very difficult to predict who will start any one game, particularly in the attacking positions.

The only big price shout worth a mention would be a small bet on Russell Martin. The full-back – nicknamed the Norfolk Cafú – has got two goals already this season and averages more shots on goal than any other Canaries defender. At a price of 21.00 he may be worth a little punt to score first for big returns.
