Jadon Sancho is the most in-form youngster in Europe’s top five leagues

Jadon Sancho continues to defy belief after turning in another sparkling performance for Borussia Dortmund at the weekend.

The England international scored and provided his 10th assist of the league campaign in a 3-2 win over Bayer Leverkusen.

Dortmund have wobbled in the title race in recent weeks and it’s even more impressive that Sancho was the one that stepped up, at the age of 18.

Sancho set up Dan-Axel Zagadou for Dortmund’s opener before scoring a wonderful volley to give his side back the lead before the interval.

The teenager is only the second player in the Bundesliga to reach 10 assists for the campaign and has now won the WhoScored Man of the Match award in three of his last six games.

Sancho, who has played a direct hand in five goals in his last six league games, was the second most in-form youngster in Europe’s top five leagues last week but has leapfrogged Leganes striker Youssef En-Nesyri into first following Sunday’s showing.

Serie A duo Gianluigi Donnarumma and Federico Chiesa have also improved their top-10 standing from last week, while the likes of Achraf Hakimi, Luka Jovic and Sofiane Alakouch have broken into the top-10 as new qualifiers.

Kylian Mbappe remains in third after scoring twice in a 3-0 win over Nimes at the weekend. The Paris Saint-Germain striker has remarkably played a direct hand in 28 goals in 20 league appearances this season.

QUALIFYING RULES

Only ratings taken from each player’s last six league matches are considered, weighted chronologically, with the most recent match carrying greater importance and so on. To qualify each player must have featured in their side’s last league game and started at least six of the last eight available.
