Yamal and Williams among day six's top performers of Euro 2024

 

After day six of Euro 2024 action, we run through the top rated performers from Thursday's games. England, Spain, Italy, Denmark, Slovenia and Serbia are all represented on the list.    

 

10. Phil Foden (England) - 7.29 

 

Phil Foden put in a much-improved performance in England's eventual 1-1 draw with Denmark, earning a WhoScored rating of 7.29 in the process. Foden completed four dribbles and managed four shots, one of which struck the woodwork. 

 

9. Lamine Yamal (Spain) - 7.33 

 

Spain should have won comfortably on Thursday night with Lamine Yamal a nightmare for the Italy backline. The teeenager completed four dribbles and struck the woodwork in an eventual 1-0 win for La Roja as the 16-year-old returned a WhoScored rating of 7.33. 

 

 

8. Zan Karnicnik (Slovenia) - 7.39 

 

Slovenia were seconds away from a first ever Euros win, but were ultimately held to a 1-1 draw by Serbia. Zan Karnicnik netted for his nation midway through the second half, scoring with one of two shots, and made three clearances in a solid showing. 

 

7. Nico Williams (Spain) - 7.49 

 

Nico Williams gave the Italian backline a torrid evening in Schalke as he completed four dribbles and made four key passes. The 21-year-old struck the woodwork with one of two shots as potential suitors watched on. 

 

6. Ivan Ilic (Serbia) - 7.54 

 

Ivan Ilic provided the key assist for Serbia's late equaliser against Slovenia, that coming from one of three key passes. The 23-year-old worked hard off the ball, too, making three tackles on his way to a WhoScored rating of 7.54. 

 

5. Gianluigi Donnarumma (Italy) - 7.61 

 

It took a Riccardo Calafiori own goal for Spain to beat Italy on Thursday night with Gianluigi Donnarumma putting in a fine showing between the Azzurri sticks even in defeat. The towering PSG star made eight saves in the loss to land a WhoScored rating of 7.61. 

 

4. Fabian Ruiz (Spain) - 7.98 

 

Fabian Ruiz put in a superb all-round display as Spain beat Italy, firing off three shots, managing three key passes, completing three dribbles and making two tackles. The 28-year-old also found a teammate with 95.3% of his 85 attempted passes.

3. Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg (Denmark) - 7.98 

 

The star performer from Denmark's 1-1 draw with England, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg battled hard in the middle of the park as he managed six tackles, three interceptions and two clearances to claim a WhoScored rating of 7.98. 

 

2. Marc Cucurella (Spain) - 8.17 

 

Marc Cucurella worked hard to limit the Italy offensive on Thursday night. The Chelsea left-back was successful with all five attempted tackles, and made three interceptions and two clearances. Cucurella also misplaced just one pass to return a WhoScored rating of 8.17. 

 

1. Timi Max Elsnik (Slovenia) - 8.33 

 

The best rated player from day six of Euro 2024 action, Timi Max Elsnik earned a WhoScored rating of 8.33 in Slovenia's 1-1 draw with Serbia. The 26-year-old provided the assist for Zan Karnicnik's strike, that coming from one of two key passes, while he also made three tackles and one interception.
