Three Arsenal players feature in Europa League best XI

 

Goalkeeper: Plamen Iliev (Ludogorets Razgrad) - 8.01 rating

 

 Ludogorets Razgrad secured a fine 3-0 win at Ferencvaros on Thursday night, with goalkeeper Plamen Iliev impressive between the sticks. However, it wasn't the walk in the park the scoreline suggests, with the 27-year-old forced into making five saves to secure a WhoScored rating of 8.01.

 

 Right-back: Silvan Widmer (FC Basel 1893) - 7.90 rating

 

 Basel may have been held to a 2-2 draw at Trabzonspor as they came from behind to secure a point, but the stalemate marked a solid showing by Silvan Widmer. The full-back put the Swiss side ahead midway through the first half, while three tackles, three clearances and two interceptions saw him come away with a WhoScored rating of 7.90.

 

 Centre-back: Rafael Forster (Ludogorets Razgrad) - 9.55 rating

 

 The second Ludogorets player to feature, Rafael Forster was more than deserving of the man of the match award with a WhoScored rating of 9.55 at Ferencvaros having bagged a brace in the victory. The Brazilian chipped in with four clearances, three tackles and two tackles in a clean sheet attaining performance to feature.

 

 Centre-back: Evan Ndicka (Eintracht Frankfurt) - 8.12 rating

 

 Young French centre-back Evan Ndicka is the sole Eintracht Frankfurt representative after his man of the match performance at Vitoria de Guimaraes. The 20-year-old bagged the only goal of the game and was defensively sound as he won four aerial duels and made eight clearances to star in the Europa League team of the week with a 8.12 rating.

 

 Left-back: Kieran Tierney (Arsenal) - 8.81 rating

 

 Arsenal fans will have been excited at what is to come from Kieran Tierney after impressing in his second start of his Gunners career, with the Scot the first of three Arsenal players to make the grade. Indeed, Tierney registered the assist for his side's first goal, that coming from one of four key passes over the 90 minutes, while three tackles and two interceptions saw him gain a WhoScored rating of 8.81.

 Narrowly missing out on the player of the week award with a WhoScored rating of 9.88, Dani Quintana put in a fine performance at Dudelange. He scored one from four shots and provided one assist from two key passes, while two successful dribbles meant he was good value for his inclusion.

 

 Central midfield: Dani Ceballos (Arsenal) - 8.90 rating

 

 Dani Ceballos netted his first Arsenal goal of his career in their 4-0 win over Standard Liege on Thursday, that coming from one of three shots. A fine performer on the ball, the summer arrival returned a 93.9% pass success rate from 99 passes, and he could've had an assist too having made four key passes. An additional four key passes helped return a WhoScored rating 8.90.

 

 Central midfield: Michael (Qarabag) - 8.99 rating

 

 The second Qarabag player to star in this XI is the experienced Michel, who, like Quintana, also hit the back of the net aganst Dudelange, scoring with one of his two shots. Putting in a solid shift on the ball, returning a 91.8% pass success rate, it was Michel's work off the ball that caught the eye as he made eight tackles to contribute towards a WhoScored rating of 8.99.

 

Left midfield: Mohamed Elyounoussi (Celtic) - 8.47 rating

 

 There is a Celtic feel to the left side in this XI with Mohamed Elyounoussi featuring on the flank on the back of his man of the match perormance against CFR Cluj. The Norwegian bagged his side's second to confirm the three points, hitting the back of the net from one of four shots, and in a fine attacking display, the former Southampton man completed three dribbles and created two goalscoring chances to gain a WhoScored rating of 8.47.

 Umar Sadiq put in an influential display at FC Astana as his brace confirmed a 2-1 win. The Partizan Belgrade forward scored two from four shots to help the Serbian side to their first group stage win and, in the process, garner a WhoScored rating of 8.77.

 

Striker: Gabriel Martinelli (Arsenal) - 10.0 rating

 

 Very much saving the best until last in this XI, Gabriel Martinelli is our Europa League player of the week having earned a perfect 10 WhoScored rating against Stanard Liege. It was the 18-year-old who bagged the opener against the Belgian side and ultimately had a direct hand in three of Arsenal's four goals in their 4-0 win, scoring two and assisting one from respective returns of seven shots and five key passes. Three tackles and two dribbles helped the Brazilian to his stunning rating in a fine performance for the Gunners.
