Premier League round-up: The star men from Tuesday’s action revealed
Brighton 3-1 Crystal Palace - Yves Bissouma - 7.62 rating
Brighton came out on top in yet another pulsating encounter between the two sides that was effectively decided in the first half where Brighton raced into a 3-0 lead despite being reduced to 10 men. Finishing the match with only 31% possession, Brighton were forced to dig in and protect their lead. Yves Bissouma was key in that respect, completing nine tackles. In fact, only on two occasions has someone won more tackles in a Premier League match this season.
Bournemouth 2-1 Huddersfield - Callum Wilson - 8.00 rating
Bournemouth survived a second half onslaught from Huddersfield to end a four-game losing streak. The Cherries raced into a 2-0 lead after Callum Wilson opened the scoring before returning the favour to Ryan Fraser. In just 15 Premier League appearances this season, Wilson has already equalled his tally from the whole of the last campaign (8 goals in 28 games). Wilson registered three key passes in total and completed two dribbles to finish as the WhoScored Man of the Match.

West Ham 3-1 Cardiff - Robert Snodgrass - 8.71 rating
West Ham have Lukasz Fabianski to thank for saving Joe Ralls’ penalty when it was still goalless in the first half before substitute Lucas Perez helped the Hammers on their way to successive Premier League wins. Robert Snodgrass provided two assists, while also creating another four goalscoring opportunities for his team. Snodgrass also chipped in with two tackles and one shot on goal.
Watford 1-2 Manchester City - Riyad Mahrez - 8.76 rating
Manchester City avoided a potential banana-skin against Watford and have heaped the pressure back on Liverpool ahead of their trip to Burnley on Wednesday after opening up a five-point lead at the top of the Premier League. Pep Guardiola made wholesale changes from the side that played at the weekend and Riyad Mahrez was one of those to return to the starting XI. The 27-year-old scored what turned out to be the winner, one of three shots on target. Mahrez also set up Leroy Sane for City’s opener and completed two tackles to ensure City return north with three points.
