Yahoo! Fantasy Football: Arsenal contingent dominate top performing XI

After Liverpool secured a memorable 4-3 win over Manchester City, the Reds were brought crashing back down to earth on Monday night as they fell to a 1-0 loss at Swansea City. With table footers Swansea securing a vital three points, the south Wales side have two representatives in the Yahoo! Fantasy Football best performing XI of gameweek 24.

GOALKEEPER – LUKASZ FABIANSKI 

Picking up the WhoScored man of the match award, and earning a spot in the Premier League team of the week, Lukasz Fabianski kept another clean sheet to help Swansea to a 1-0 win over Liverpool. With four saves and four crosses claimed, the Swans number one did enough to earn 16.00 Yahoo! Fantasy Football points. 

DEFENDER – ALFIE MAWSON 

Remaining with Swansea, and this time Alfie Mawson, with the young defender earning 20.30 Yahoo! Fantasy Football points. Mawson netted the only goal of the game in Swansea’s win over Liverpool, all the while winning one aerial duel, blocking five shots and making two tackles, two interceptions and seven clearances. 

DEFENDER – LAURENT KOSCIELNY 

Moving across to Arsenal’s 4-1 dismantling of Crystal Palace, Laurent Koscielny is the first of four Gunners stars and one of two Arsenal defenders to make the best scoring Yahoo! Fantasy Football XI. The Frenchman netted his first Premier League goal of the season with just 13 minutes on the clock and was on hand to make two tackles, three interceptions and 10 clearances. 

DEFENDER – NACHO MONREAL 

Nacho Monreal scored the opening goal that set Arsenal on their way against Crystal Palace and chipped in with two assists in a 34-minute spell prior to his first half injury. Nevertheless, in such a short space of time, the Gunners favourite did enough to gain 21.95 Yahoo! Fantasy Football points. 

MIDFIELDER – ALEX IWOBI 

Continuing with Arsenal, Alex Iwobi bagged his side’s second goal of the game with just 10 minutes on the clock. What’s more, two tackles, one interception, one key pass and one successful dribble saw the Nigerian earn 22.15 Yahoo! Fantasy Football points. 

MIDFIELDER – LUKA MILIVOJEVIC

MIDFIELDER – WILLIAN

Willian netted the Blues’ second in the victory – a wonderful team effort – and registered the assist for Eden Hazard’s second half strike. The Brazilian also chipped in with four key passes and two successful dribbles to return 24.85 Yahoo! Fantasy Football points. 

MIDFIELDER – EDEN HAZARD 

Willian isn’t the only Chelsea midfielder to make the cut, with Eden Hazard also featuring in best performing Yahoo! Fantasy Football XI of gameweek 24. The Belgian wing wizard completed more dribbles (9) than any other Premier League player over the weekend while his brace contributed to a perfect WhoScored rating of 10. 

UTILITY – SERGIO AGUERO 

Hazard wasn’t the only player to earn a perfect 10 in gameweek 24, with Manchester City star Sergio Aguero achieving the feat. The Argentine netted a perfect hat-trick in a 3-1 win over Newcastle to gain more Yahoo! Fantasy Football points (37.85) than any other player over the weekend. 

STRIKER – JAMIE VARDY

Jamie Vardy netted his 10th Premier League goal of the season in Leicester’s 2-0 win over Watford, with the Foxes star scoring from the spot in the first half. With two dribbles and one key pass, Vardy was good value to earn 16.00 Yahoo! Fantasy Football points last time out. 

STRIKER – ALEXANDRE LACAZETTE 

Rounding off the Arsenal contingent is summer arrival Alexandre Lacazette, who brought his lengthy goal drought to an end with his first strike against Crystal Palace. The Gunners forward gained 18.00 Yahoo! Fantasy Football points in gameweek 24 having mustered five shots, two key passes and one successful dribble.
