Football INDEX: Former Arsenal man looking to haunt previous employers

Here, we give our tips on who you should be looking to invest in taking into account the weekend’s action across Europe’s top five leagues. A couple of Premier League players secured loan moves to Germany on deadline day and this is our first port of call today…

ADEMOLA LOOKMAN - RB LEIPZIG (BUY)

It was a surprise to see Ademola Lookman secure a deadline day loan move to RB Leipzig, yet, according to Everton boss Sam Allardyce, the young winger was adamant on a switch to Germany. The 20-year-old will now hope to gain some vital playing time in a vibrant RB Leipzig side that has a history of developing young talent.

Indeed, Lookman registered just 154 minutes of league action under his belt this season, but that should increase in the Bundesliga. A man of the match display in Everton’s 3-0 win at Apollen Limassol highlighted just how effective an attacker he can be and RB Leipzig fans will be hoping to see similar performances between now and the end of the campaign. With a buy price of just £0.94 per share on Football INDEX, the youngster is one to keep an eye on.

MICHY BATSHUAYI - BORUSSIA DORTMUND (BUY)

Lookman’s move to RB Leipzig was completed after Michy Batshuayi’s loan switch to Borussia Dortmund was announced, with the Belgian joining as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s replacement following his switch to Arsenal. Batshuayi will look to benefit from an increase in playing time, starting with Dortmund’s trip to FC Cologne this evening.

However, despite a lack of regular action under Antonio Conte, Batshuayi has still mustered seven league goals for the Blues, netting every 84.6 minutes, that better than any other player to score five or more Premier League goals since the start of the 2016/17 season. That record should improve further with a first team place in Germany and with a buy price of £1.30 per share on Football INDEX, be sure to invest in the 24-year-old sooner rather than later.

THEO WALCOTT - EVERTON (BUY)

Like Lookman, Theo Walcott had also impressed in the Europa League this season, but struggled for regular action in the Premier League. His move to Everton has given the 28-year-old a new lease of life, though, with Walcott chipping in with one assist and two goals in two Toffees appearances to date. A brace on Wednesday night saw the England international earn the WhoScored man of the match award with a rating of 9.30.

Up against Arsenal on Saturday evening, Walcott will be hoping to prove his former employers were wrong to cash in on the attacker and maintain his flying start to life with Everton. With an affordable run of fixtures looming for the Toffees after the trip to the Emirates this weekend, Walcott’s buy price of £1.51 per share on Football INDEX can be expected to rise over the coming weeks. A strong showing in north London could see a sharp increase in demand for the former Gunners man.

JORDON IBE - BOURNEMOUTH (BUY)

Bournemouth’s six-match unbeaten run has flown under the radar somewhat, but in that time, the Cherries have defeated Everton, Arsenal and Chelsea. Jordon Ibe has played a key role in that unbeaten run, with the former Liverpool man living up to expectations following a slow start to life on the south coast.

Two assists and one goal in his last four Premier League appearances, coupled with two WhoScored man of the match awards, means Ibe is one to back in the Football INDEX market. With a lowly buy price of just £0.73 per share, now is the opportune time to invest in the 22-year-old. Bournemouth face Stoke, Huddersfield and Newcastle over the coming weeks and you can be confident in Ibe maintaining his good run of form.

ALEX SANDRO - JUVENTUS (BUY)

A clean sheet at Atalanta in the Coppa Italia in midweek means Juventus have conceded just one goal in their last 14 competitive matches, with the Old Lady showing astonishing defensive resolve over the run. Incidentally, the only player to score against Juventus in that period is former defender Martin Caceres.

Juventus have a number of upcoming games you’d expect them to win, and given their recent form, to do so to nil. A defender could be crucial and while Alex Sandro’s buy price has dipped to £1.04 per share, that figure can be expected to rise again should Juventus maintain their good form. While reports of a move to Chelsea failed to come to fruition, Manchester United were also interested in the Brazilian in January and by playing the long game on Football INDEX, you stand to make a tidy profit on Sandro if you invest and wait it out until his share price rises.
