U21 Team of the Week: Manchester United starlet Greenwood the best in Europe

Here we run through the best WhoScored rated U21 XI from the weekend's action across Europe's remaining top three leagues (Premier League, Serie A and LaLiga).

Outfielders aged 21 and under at the beginning of the season will qualify for the XI, while goalkeepers must have been 23 and under.

Goalkeeper: Emil Audero (Sampdoria) - 8.03 rating

Successive wins has moved Sampdoria seven points clear of the bottom three and with room to breathe. The Serie A outfit recorded a comfortable 3-0 win over bottom side SPAL on Sunday, though goalkeeper Emil Audero was still forced to make four saves for his clean sheet.

Right-back: Mert Muldur (Sassuolo) - 7.55 rating

After struggling to break into the first-team set-up up until the Coronavirus outbreak, 21-year-old Mert Muldur has been an ever-present for Sassuolo since Serie A returned last month. Sassuolo are unbeaten in their last four and Muldur has started every one. The Turkish right-back has even scored in successive games after netting in their 4-2 win over Lecce on Saturday.

Centre-back: James Justin (Leicester) - 8.00 rating

James Justin was asked to play as a third centre-back in Leicester's 3-0 win over Crystal Palace, as Brendan Rodgers sought a tactical re-think in a bid to kickstart their season back into life. Even though Justin was asked to do more defensive work than he is used to, the 22-year-old managed more shots against Palace (2) than his previous seven league appearances combined (1) and was even denied by the woodwork. Justin also weighed in with seven tackles and won four aerial duels to help Leicester keep a clean sheet.

Centre-back: Andrea Papetti (Brescia) - 8.15 rating

Brescia ended their 14-game winless streak on Sunday, bouncing back from a 6-0 defeat by Inter, with a 2-0 victory at home to European hopefuls Verona. 18-year-old centre-back Andrea Papetti scored his first senior goal on just his fifth start to give Brescia an outside chance of beating the drop. The teenager also made nine clearances to help his side keep their first clean sheet in Serie A since December.

Left-back: Theo Hernandez (AC Milan) - 7.57 rating

AC Milan pulled off the biggest surprise result of the weekend in Serie A and arguably in Europe, with a 3-0 win away to title-chasing Lazio. It marked Lazio's first home league defeat all season and has put Milan in a good position to challenge for fifth. Theo Hernandez turned in another solid display for Milan and it could have been better had he converted one of his two attempts. The left-back completed 93.8% of his attempted passes and completed six tackles and interceptions combined.

Right wing: Mason Greenwood (Manchester United) - 8.52 rating

Mason Greenwood finished the weekend's action as the best rated youngster in Europe after grabbing the headlines in Manchester United's 5-2 win at home to Bournemouth. The 18-year-old scored two stunning goals, to take his tally for the league campaign to eight goals. Greenwood scored from both of his attempts on goal and finished his fifth straight match with a pass success rate in excess of 90%.

Central midfield: Manuel Locatelli (Sassuolo) - 7.74 rating

Manuel Locatelli brought up his fifth assist of the Serie A campaign in Sassuolo's 4-2 win over Lecce at the weekend, surpassing his best ever haul in a single season. The 22-year-old also weighed in with three tackles, completed two dribbles and 91.8% of his attempted passes.

Central midfield: Sandro Tonali (Brescia) - 7.58 rating

Relegated or not, Sandro Tonali is expected to move on to bigger and better things this summer with a number of Italy's biggest clubs tracking the talented 20-year-old dubbed 'the next Pirlo'. Tonali registered his sixth assist of the Serie A campaign in Brescia's vital 2-0 win at home to Verona on Sunday and also set up another goalscoring chance for a team-mate. Moreover, Tonali chipped in with three tackles and interceptions combined to help see his side over the line.

Central midfield: Nicolas Dominguez (Bologna) - 8.04 rating

January arrival Nicolas Dominguez played an integal role in Bologna's shock 2-1 win over Inter on Sunday. Bologna came from 1-0 down to secure all three points, with Dominguez registering his first assist in Serie A for the winning goal. The 22-year-old midfielder put in a big shift when Bologna were out of possession, making nine tackles and interceptions combined for the away side.

Left wing: Marcus Rashford (Manchester United) - 7.95 rating

Marcus Rashford scored his first goal post-lockdown and 15th Premier League goal of the campaign in Manchester United's thrilling win over Bournemouth on Saturday. Rashford calmly dispatched from the spot to put United 2-1 up, having previously gone 1-0 down early in the first half. Rashford, now 22, had four attempts in total and also registered two key passes against the Cherries.

Striker: Musa Barrow (Bologna) - 7.90 rating

Musa Barrow scored for the third game running to give Bologna all three points away to Inter, latching onto Nicolas Dominguez's pass for the winning goal. The 21-year-old had three attempts in total, was denied a second by the frame of the goal, and registered two key passes before coming off with six minutes of normal time remaining. Barrow led from the front out of possession, completing one tackle and one interception.
