Barcelona 2-8 Bayern Munich Player Ratings: Muller shines in stunning match

The end of an era? Barcelona were absolutely blown away by Bayern Munich tonight as the Bavarian giants secured an 8-2 win over the Blaugrana to book their spot in the semi-finals of the Champions League.

We take a look at the full player ratings from a stunning match in Lisbon...

Barcelona - 5.80

Marc-Andre ter Stegen - 5.07: Could do little to stop Thomas Muller from putting Bayern ahead and got a foot to Ivan Perisic's low drive. He made a crucial stop to keep Barcelona in the game, but was unable to turn away Serge Gnabry and Muller for a second as Bayern romped to a 4-1 lead with 30 minutes on the clock. Conceded eight in total, which says it all.

Nelson Semedo - 5.64: Looked to make use of the space vacated by Sergi Roberto and Lionel Messi when the cut in field, and he got forward well, but his final ball was found wanting. Beaten far too easily by Alphonso Davies by Bayern's fifth goal of the night.

Gerard Pique - 5.65: Better than Clement Lenglet, but like the Frenchman, was dominated by Robert Lewandowski and the Bayern attack. A match he'll want to quickly forget.

Clement Lenglet - 4.92: A really poor first half as he was overawed by the Bayern Munich attack. Won just one aerial duel against Robert Lewandowski as he faltered in the air. Allowed Thomas Muller to get in front of him too easily for the German's second and Bayern's fourth. Didn't improve after the break in a shocking showing from the Frenchman.

Jordi Alba - 5.58: Broke forward well shortly after Barcelona went behind and it was his cross that resulted in David Alaba turning the ball over Manuel Neuer and into the Bayern net. Made a crunch challenge to deny Bayern Munich a sixth with 20 minutes to go.

Sergi Roberto - 5.85: Off at the break following an anonymous opening 45 minutes. Only moment of note came for a cross that was well turned away by Jerome Boateng, but an outing to quickly move on from.

Sergio Busquets - 5.71: Back in the starting XI after missing the 3-1 win over Napoli due to a ban. Solid in possession as he found a teammate with 88.1% of passes, but off the ball, he offered little protection to Barcelona defence as he failed to make a tackle and made one interception.

Frenkie de Jong - 5.51: Failed to control the game in midfield. Overrun by this Bayern Munich machine.

Arturo Vidal - 5.35: Was suspended for the 3-1 win over Napoli and returned to the first team fold here. A shocking performance from the left as his age showed in a forgettable showing.

Lionel Messi - 6.80: Looked to spring into life on 20 minutes as he found space to run into. Drove forward with purpose, but his effort was well gathered by Manuel Neuer. However, the Argentine was far from his best against Bayern.

Luis Suarez - 7.48: Denied well by both Jerome Boateng and Manuel Neuer early on as he sought his fifth Champions League goal of the season. Managed to get a shot away five minutes before the break, only for his bouncing effort to be straight at Neuer. 10 minutes after the restart, he had his goal to hand Barcelona a lifeline.

Bayern Munich - 7.68

Manuel Neuer - 7.07: Could do little to stop Barcelona from drawing level on seven minutes, but stood tall to deny Luis Suarez moments later. Unable to deny the Uruguayan from scoring in the second half, yet was solid between the sticks.

Joshua Kimmich - 9.52: Presented with the simplest of finishes by Alphonso Davies to score Bayern's fifth goal. Created more goalscoring chances (7) than any other player and Barcelona as a whole (5).

Jerome Boateng - 6.36: Made a crucial last ditch interception to turn a Sergi Roberto cross away from Luis Suarez. Sold himself too easily for Luis Suarez's goal, though with Bayern in control, was lucky this moment of poor defending didn't prove costly.

David Alaba - 6.04: Inadvertently turned a low cross over Manuel Neuer to draw Barcelona level after seven minutes.

Alphonso Davies - 8.31: Excellent down the left flank, sold Nelson Semedo easily in the build up to Bayern's fifth as he broke down the to byline before driving into the box and teeing Joshua Kimmich up for an easy finish. Completed more dribbles (5) than any other player.

Thiago - 7.16: Dominant in possession as he found a teammate with 71 of his 74 passes against his former employers.

Leon Goretzka - 8.57: Excellent alongside Thiago in Bayern's 4-2-3-1 formation as he provided the assist for Serge Gnabry's goal midway through the first half. Four interceptions and three tackles capped a fine showing from the German.

Serge Gnabry - 8.57: Registered the assist for Ivan Perisic's goal before getting on the scoresheet himself midway through the first half with his first Champions League goal this season that wasn't scored in London.

Thomas Muller - 10.0: Netted a delightful opener to put Bayern ahead early on, his fifth against Barcelona in the Champions League. Bagged his second and Bayern's fourth with half an hour on the clock. Man of the match with a perfect 10.

Ivan Perisic - 7.56: Picked out Thomas Muller excellently in the build up to Bayern's opening goal before putting the German side ahead with 20 minutes on the clock. Enjoyed plenty of freedom down the left flank in the opening half hour. Let rip from 20 yards early in the second half, but Marc-Andre ter Stegen was equal to his effort.

Robert Lewandowski - 9.47: Provided the assist for Thomas Muller, his fifth in the competition this season, to set Bayern on the front foot after three minutes. Huffed and puffed and was finally rewarded for his efforts with his 14th Champions League goal of the season late on
