Fiorentina hero De Gea joins Arsenal and Barcelona stars in European Team of the Week
Atalanta are the dominant side in the European Team of the Week with three players, while Barcelona, Fiorentina, Mallorca, Brentford, Arsenal and Saint-Etienne also represented in the XI.
David De Gea (Fiorentina) – 9.28
David De Gea was instrumental between the sticks as Fiorentina claimed a 2-1 win over AC Milan on Sunday night. De Gea was on hand to make seven saves, including two penalty stops, to kick off the XI with a WhoScored rating of 9.28.
Marten De Roon (Atalanta) – 8.62
The first of three Atalanta players to make the cut following their 5-1 win over Genoa, Marten De Roon scored his first league goal of the season at the weekend. The 33-year-old netted with his only effort in the victory, and made five interceptions on his way to a WhoScored rating of 8.62.
Antonio Raillo (Mallorca) – 8.39
While Mallorca fell to a 2-1 loss at Espanyol, Antonio Raillo did enough to secure a place in the European Team of the Week with a WhoScored rating of 8.39. Indeed, Raillo scored his side’s only goal, while he did all he could defensively, winning eight aerial duels, making five clearances and four interceptions.
Nathan Collins (Brentford) – 8.39
Rounding off the defence in the European Team of the Week is Brentford’s Nathan Collins. The Bees played out an entertaining 5-3 win over table footers Wolves on Saturday, with Collins getting on the scoresheet for the first time in the Premier League this season, while an additional nine clearances saw Collins land a WhoScored rating of 8.39.

Bukayo Saka moved to the top of the Premier League’s assist leaderboard with a pair of assists in Saturday’s 3-1 win over Southampton. The Gunners star found a teammate with two of seven key passes and hit the back of the net with one of seven shots to return a WhoScored rating of 9.41.
Mikkel Damsgaard (Brentford) – 8.91
The second of two Brentford players in the side, Mikkel Damsgaard provided his first and second league assists of the season in the 5-3 win over Wolves. The Dane made six key passes, three tackles and two clearances in the home victory to feature with a WhoScored rating of 8.91.
Ederson was instrumental in Atalanta’s 5-1 win over Genoa, scoring his first league goal of the season in the home triumph. The Brazilian struck with one of four shots, picked out a teammate with 92% of his 50 passes, completed two dribbles and made two interceptions to make the cut.
Raphinha provided his third and fourth assists of the La Liga season in Barcelona’s 3-0 win at Alaves on Sunday. The brace of assists for Robert Lewandowski came from two of five key passes, and the 27-year-old worked hard off the ball, too, as he made three tackles to contribute towards his inclusion in the team with a WhoScored rating of 8.62.
Zuriko Davitashvili (Saint-Etienne) – 10.0
With a perfect WhoScored 10 rating, Saint-Etienne’s Zuriko Davitashvili is the European Player of the Week. The 23-year-old netted with three of four shots in Saint-Etienne’s 3-1 win over Auxerre, and went on to make three key passes and complete two dribbles in a stand out display for the French side.
Robert Lewandowski (Barcelona) – 9.86
Robert Lewandowski moved four goals clear in the Pichichi race over the weekend having bagged a first half hat-trick in Barcelona’s 3-0 win at Alaves. The 36-year-old scored with three of six shots and won two aerial duels to help land a WhoScored rating of 9.86.
Mateo Retegui (Atalanta) – 9.59
Partnering Lewandowski on the frontline in the European Team of the Week is Atalanta forward Mateo Retegui. The Italy international was directly involved in four of his side’s five goals against Genoa, netting with three of six shots and providing one assist from five key passes to feature in attack with a WhoScored rating of 9.59.
