Arsenal Injury News: Merino and Tomiyasu boost, White and Calafiori concern

Arsenal left it late to secure all the spoils against Leicester last time out, eventually claiming all three points in a 4-2 win.

Attention now turns to the Champions League as the Gunners welcome French powerhouse PSG to the Emirates.

Here is the latest Arsenal team news ahead of Tuesday's Champions League game...

Takehiro Tomiyasu

Japanese full-back Takehiro Tomiyasu is yet to make an appearance for Arsenal following a knee injury sustained in pre-season training back in July.

However, Tomiyasu has since returned to training and may well make the matchday squad for the first time this season in midweek.

Kieran Tierney

Gunners left-back Kieran Tierney remains sidelined after picking up a hamstring injury while away with Scotland at the summer’s European Championship.

At present, there is no defined return date for the Scotsman, who continues to work on his recovery with the aim of eventually forcing his way into Mikel Arteta’s plans this season.

Mikel Merino

After completing his move from Real Sociedad in the final week of the summer transfer window, Spanish midfielder Mikel Merino suffered a shoulder injury in his first Arsenal training session.

Like Tomiyasu, though, Merino has since returned to training, which is a boost for Arteta.

Martin Odegaard

In perhaps the biggest blow yet for the Gunners, captain Martin Odegaard suffered an ankle sprain during Norway’s win over Austria during the international break. The good news is the injury isn't as bad as initially feared, and he should return once domestic duties resume later this month.

Oleksandr Zinchenko

Oleksandr Zinchenko hasn't featured for Arsenal since the 1-1 draw with Brighton back in August owing to a calf issue. He is expected back after the international break, however.

Ben White

Ben White missed the respective EFL Cup and Premier League wins over Bolton and Leicester, and wasn't spotted in training ahead of the meeting with PSG. He's unlikely to feature in midweek and will hope to return for the welcome of Southampton this weekend.

Riccardo Calafiori

While he played the full 90 minutes in the win over Leicester, Riccardo Calafiori will face a late fitness test ahead of the welcome of PSG.
