Liverpool are the only side to have made a 100% start to the Premier League season, with their 3-0 win over Burnley on Saturday ensuring they head into the international break at the top of the table. Not only do they lead the way in England’s top tier, but it’s a star striker who sits atop the Premier League player rankings.

Roberto Firmino has now had a direct hand in four Premier League goals this season having scored two and assisted two, with his goal against Burnley meaning he is now the top scoring Brazilian in Premier League history, and it’s translated into a fine WhoScored rating of 8.17 after four matches, that better than any other player. He is not the only Liverpool player to make the cut as the top rated performers either, with Mohamed Salah (7.66) the other Reds star to feature in the top 10.

Title rivals Manchester City sit two points behind Liverpool at this early stage of the campaign and have scored more goals (14) than any other side after their 4-0 win over Brighton on Saturday. Premier League player of the week Sergio Aguero had a direct hand in three of the four goals in the win over the Seagulls and his WhoScored rating (8.04) is the third best in the league so far, and one that is pipped to second by teammate Kevin De Bruyne (8.15).

Raheem Sterling (7.96) and Riyad Mahrez (7.58) ensure there are four City players in the top 10 heading into the September international break. Two West Ham stars also make the grade with Sebastien Haller (7.96) moving up two places to fourth and teammate Arthur Masuaku (7.91) rising 10 places to sixth.

It was West Ham’s 2-0 win over Norwich that saw Haller and Masuaku rise up the player ratings as a Canaries star dropped to seventh. Teemu Pukki (7.82) may have started the campaign brightly, but the Hammers kept the Finnish striker at bay and it means he falls down the player ratings. Ashley Barnes makes up the top 10 as Liverpool silenced Burnley forward at Turf Moor. The striker’s WhoScored rating is now at 7.59 as he fell six spots in the player rating standings.
