DEFENDER – MARCOS ALONSO 

Marcos Alonso must’ve felt he had won Chelsea a crucial three points at Arsenal having scored late on in the 2-2 draw at the Emirates. With two aerial duels won and one interception, the Blues defender was on hand to land 17.20 Yahoo! Fantasy Football points. 

DEFENDER – RAGNAR KLAVAN 

On the day Virgil van Dijk made his move to Liverpool official, Ragnar Klavan secured the Reds a crucial three points late on at Burnley. The Estonian earned 15.35 points on Yahoo! Fantasy Football having won three aerial duels and made 10 clearances in the 2-1 victory at Turf Moor. 

DEFENDER – STEVE COOK 

Steve Cook notched his second goal of the season in Bournemouth’s 2-2 draw with Brighton on New Year’s Day. On top of that, the Cherries defender made five interceptions and seven clearances to return 19.05 Yahoo! Fantasy Football points. 

MIDFIELDER – EDEN HAZARD 

Eden Hazard earned the WhoScored man of the match award in Chelsea’s 2-2 draw with Arsenal, with his performance securing him a spot in the Premier League team of the week. To go with his goal, the Blues star completed six dribbles and made one key pass to gain 18.45 Yahoo! Fantasy Football points. 

MIDFIELDER – DELE ALLI 

Tottenham landed a respectable 2-0 win at a rain-soaked Swansea on Tuesday night, with Dele Alli scoring late on to seal the three points for Spurs. What’s more, the 21-year-old made one tackle, two interceptions and one key pass to land 19.70 Yahoo! Fantasy Football points. 

MIDFIELDER – JESSE LINGARD 

Like Hazard, Jesse Lingard too gained the WhoScored man of the match award for his performance in Manchester United’s 2-0 win over Everton. The attacker netted in the latter stages of the victory at Goodison Park, completed three dribbles and made one key pass to return 18.05 points with Yahoo! Fantasy Football. 

MIDFIELDER – MARC ALBRIGHTON 

Marc Albrighton scored one and assisted another in Leicester’s 3-0 win over Huddersfield on New Year’s Day, with the Foxes wideman notching 19.60 Yahoo! Fantasy Football points as a result. Three key passes, two successful dribbles and two accurate crosses helped gain such a respectable return. 

UTILITY - SERGIO AGUERO 

Given his previous record against Watford, it was odd to see Sergio Aguero score just the once against the Hornets on Tuesday night. The Manchester City striker scored with one of his five shots in the 3-1 win and also completed three dribbles to earn 19.35 points with Yahoo! Fantasy Football. 

STRIKER - ANDY CARROLL 

A second half brace in West Ham’s 2-1 win over West Brom meant Andy Carroll earned more Yahoo! Fantasy Football points (20.80) than any other player in gameweek 22. A further seven aerial duels won also ensured the Hammers striker won the WhoScored man of the match award with a 8.97. 

STRIKER - CALLUM WILSON 

One goal from five shots sees Callum Wilson round off the best performing XI from gameweek 22, with the Bournemouth striker helping himself to 18.45 Yahoo! Fantasy Football points. Two key passes, one successful dribble and three fouls drawn helped push the Bournemouth striker’s score so high in a 2-2 draw with Brighton.
