Premier League ratings round up: Manchester rivals feature

 

Fulham 0-2 Manchester City - Bernardo Silva 

 

Manchester City moved to the top of the table with a 2-0 win at relegation fodder Fulham in today’s early kick off. The defending champions rarely had to move up into second gear as first half goals from Bernardo Silva and Sergio Aguero wrapped up a routine three points. Silva provided the assist for Aguero’s sumptuous finish, while four key passes, two dribbles and one tackle helped land a WhoScored rating of 8.67. 

 

 

Burnley 2-0 Wolves - Ben Mee 

 

Burnley put a much-needed win on the board to end a four-match losing streak. With Cardiff in action against Chelsea on Sunday, the Clarets were clinical to secure all three points at Wolves’ expense with Ben Mee impressive at the heart of the defence. The centre-back won 10 aerial duels in Burnley’s 2-0 win, while four clearances, two tackles and one interception helped him land a WhoScored rating of 7.93. 

 

Brighton 0-1 Southampton - Yves Bissouma 

 

Brighton fell to a 1-0 home defeat at Southampton’s expense, which saw their south coast rivals move level on points with them in the table. While on the losing side, the match at the AMEX marked another solid performance by Yves Bissouma, who completed five dribbles, made four interceptions and three tackles to help land a WhoScored rating of 7.97. 

 

Leicester 2-0 Bournemouth - Wilfred Ndidi 

 

Leicester secured a third successive league win under Brendan Rodgers as they earned a 2-0 win over Bournemouth to move level on points with Wolves in seventh. Wes Morgan and Jamie Vardy scored the key goals in the victory, but it was Wilfred Ndidi who came away with the WhoScored man of the match award with a 9.12 rating. The Nigerian protected the Leicester backline with aplomb as he made an impressive 11 tackles and five interceptions to mark another stunning performance. 

 

Manchester United 2-1 Watford - Luke Shaw 

 

Manchester United secured a 2-1 win over Watford to mark Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first match since his appointment as permanent manager with all three points. Marcus Rashford set United on their way to victory before Anthony Martial wrapped up the victory with his second half strike. Luke Shaw provided the assist for Rashford’s opener, that coming from his only key pass, while two dribbles, one tackle and one interception landed the left-back a WhoScored rating of 7.68. 

 

Crystal Palace 2-0 Huddersfield - Patrick van Aanholt 

 

The second impressive left-back to feature is Patrick van Aanholt. The Dutchman netted Crystal Palace’s second in their 2-0 win over Huddersfield to send the Terriers down. Van Aanholt’s goal came from one of two shots, as additional returns of three key passes and one successful dribble saw him secure a WhoScored rating of 8.15. 

 

West Ham 0-2 Everton - Lucas Digne 

 

Rounding off the trio of left-backs, Lucas Digne put in another fine performance in Everton’s 2-0 win at West Ham on Saturday evening as the Frenchman returned a WhoScored rating of 8.50. While he didn’t contribute to a goal in the victory, the summer arrival made five clearances, five interceptions and two tackles in the clean-sheet attaining performance at the London Stadium.
