Everyday, Football INDEX highlights the five biggest market movers over a 24-hour period. Here are the current five:

1. AYOZE PEREZ (NEWCASTLE)

March was a great month for Newcastle as Rafa Benitez’s side moved seven points clear of the bottom three after back-to-back wins.

The Magpies are now within touching distance of securing their top-flight status for another season with seven games of the campaign remaining.

Newcastle’s upturn in form has even piqued the interest of Football INDEX traders. Ayoze Perez, who scored the winner against Huddersfield on Saturday, in particular.

The 24-year-old scored his third league goal of the season and has now played a direct hand in three goals in his last five starts for the Toon.

Newcastle’s run-in is far from straightforward as they have two home matches against Arsenal and Chelsea to come, but Perez might still be worth considering for your portfolios.

His Football INDEX share price has increased 17.12% in the last 24 hours, illustrating there is serious interest in the Spaniard.

2. MYKYTA BURDA (DYNAMO KYIV)

Dynamo Kyiv defender Mykyta Burda is the second biggest market mover in the last day of trading. The 23-year-old’s share price has increased 16.07% in that time.

Burda’s share price has previously peaked at £0.44 this season but it’s unlikely to reach that stage this time. He is currently trading at £0.32 a share and he is not worth considering for your portfolios at this stage of the season.

3. MAX KRUSE (WERDER BREMEN)

Max Kruse has also caused quite the stir on Football INDEX in the last 24 hours. The Werder Bremen striker represents a cheap option to pad out your portfolios at only £0.56 a share.

The 30-year-old has played a direct hand in 12 goals in 23 league appearances for the Bundesliga strugglers this season and has an outside shot of making the Germany squad for the 2018 World Cup.

It’s unlikely he will be given the nod by Germany head coach Joachim Low but could represent a gamble worth taking at this stage of the season, particularly at that price.

Kruse is the set-piece taker for Bremen and that always opens up the possibility for added value.

4. KAI HAVERTZ (BAYER LEVERKUSEN)

The Bayer Leverkusen has emerged as a top transfer target for a series of Premier League teams and that has caused a sudden spike in his value on Football INDEX.

Kai Havertz burst onto the scene last season and has turned in a similarly impressive campaign this time around.

Arsenal, Liverpool and Southampton have all been linked with the 18-year-old but the former have reportedly stole a march on their rivals for his signature.

The teenager can play the way through the middle of the park and has contributed 17 goals in 48 league appearances since the start of last season.

His Football INDEX share price has jumped 14.45% to £1.33 in the last 24 hours and he should be considered for your portfolios ahead of the summer transfer window.

5. DEJAN LOVREN (LIVERPOOL)

The news that has emerged from Liverpool today is that Joel Matip requires surgery on a thigh injury and will miss the rest of the season.

Matip’s loss is Dejan Lovren’s gain and now the Croatian defender will be Jurgen Klopp’s first choice defender to partner Virgil Van Dijk.

This has caused Lovren’s Football INDEX share price to increase 13.93% in the last day of trading and he should be considered for your portfolios.

Liverpool have been in terrific form this year and stand a good chance of winning the Champions League if they can overcome Manchester City.
