Youth Watch: Man Utd winger Garnacho ranked Europe's best rated teen

 

This week on Youth Watch, a Manchester United star takes top spot in the teengage top performers across Europe, while two Brighton youngsters also make the cut. Players from Benfica, Besiktas and Bayern Munich also make the cut as we run through the top 10. 

 

10. Patrick Dorgu (Lecce) - 7.50 vs Fiorentina 

 

Patrick Dorgu only needed 15 minutes to make his mark in Lecce's 3-2 win over Fiorentina, netting his first league goal of the season in second half injury time to secure all the spoils for his side on Friday night. Dorgu also made one tackle off the bench to return a WhoScored rating of 7.50 to feature in 10th. 

 

9. Max Finkgrafe (FC Koeln) - 7.57 vs Eintracht Frankfurt 

 

Max Finkgrafe features in the 10 best performing teens for the second week running having put in a solid display in FC Koeln's 2-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt. The teenage left-back earned a WhoScored rating of 7.57 having made four tackles and one interception to help guarantee the clean sheet at the weekend. 

 

8. Jack Hinshelwood (Brighton) - 7.63 vs Crystal Palace 

 

The first of two Brighton players to feature, Jack Hinshelwood scored his third league goal of the season as the Seagulls downed the Eagles in the M23 Derby. To go with his goal, Hinshelwood also made three tackles and one interception to return a WhoScored rating of 7.63 in Brighton's 4-1 win over Crystal Palace.

 

7. Semih Kiliçsoy (Besiktas) - 7.70 vs Trabzonspor 

 

Besiktas ended a three-game winless run with a 2-0 win over Trabzonspor on Sunday afternoon with youngster Semih Kiliçsoy impressing. The Turkish teenager scored his sixth and seventh goals of the season at the weekend, netting with two of four shots in a player of the match performance. 

 

6. Christian Mawissa (Toulouse) - 7.73 vs Reims 

 

Toulouse made it two wins from their last three at Reims' expense at the weekend with Christian Mawissa getting the ball rolling for his side at the Stade Auguste-Delaune II. Indeed, Mawissa scored with his only effort on goal and went on to make five tackles, five clearances and three interceptions to return a WhoScored rating of 7.73. 

 

5. Aleksandar Pavlovic (Bayern Munich) - 7.75 vs Gladbach 

 

Aleksandar Pavlovic scored for the second league game running as Bayern Munich beat Gladbach 3-1 on home turf. The midfielder struck with one of two shots and found a teammate with 97.2% of his 72 attempted passes as he continues to deputise well for Joshua Kimmich in the middle of the park.  

 

4. Facundo Buonanotte (Brighton) - 7.79 vs Crystal Palace 

 

Featuring here for the second week running, Facundo Buonanotte scored his second league goal of the season as Brighton beat Crystal Palace at the AMEX. The Argentine attacker netted with one of two shots and made four tackles to land a WhoScored rating of 7.79. 

 

3. Joao Neves (Benfica) - 8.15 vs Gil Vicente 

 

Joao Neves is one of the most sought after midfielders in Europe and he did his reputation no harm with a superb showing in Benfica's 3-0 win over Gil Vicente. Neves scored just his second league goal of the campaign in the home victory, while one tackle, one interception and one key pass saw the Portuguese midfielder podium in this rundown. 

 

2. Mateus Fernandes (Estoril) - 8.54 vs Estrela da Amadora 

 

Remaining in Liga Portugal, Mateus Fernandes partners Neves in the team of the week having returned a WhoScored rating of 8.54 as Estoril edged past Estrela da Amadora. The 19-year-old was unfortunate not to add an assist having made four key passes, while three tackles and two interceptions capped his best rated display of the campaign so far.

Having earned a WhoScored rating of 8.92, Alejandro Garnacho is the best rated teenager across Europe this week. The Argentine scored his fourth and fifth league goals of the campaign as Manchester United beat West Ham 3-0 on Sunday, while the United winger also made three key passes in a player of the match showing.
