PSG and Real Madrid tied at top of form rankings ahead of Paris showdown

It’s all change again at the top of the WhoScored.com European team form rankings from the top five leagues, with a rundown from ten to one of the very best over the last six matches as follows…

10. Napoli (7.01) / Rating Change -.07

Falling two places after a home defeat to Roma that has perhaps handed the ascendancy back to Juventus in the Serie A title race, Napoli still put in an impressive performance in so many respects in the six goal thriller. It brought an end to a 10-game winning streak in the league.

9. Monaco (7.04) / Rating Change +.01

Earning a crucial win against Bordeaux in the race for second in Ligue 1, Monaco stretched their unbeaten run to 13 league games and have now secured victory in four of their last five.

8. Roma (7.06) / Rating Change +.09

Few gave Roma a prayer at Napoli on Saturday but Eusebio Di Francesco’s men came out on top 4-2, leapfrogging rivals Lazio into third in the table in the process and climbing higher than any other side in the top ten here.

7. Liverpool (7.08) / Rating Change +.04

Climbing the form rankings at quite a pace, Liverpool are looking very good indeed right now and while it’s their front three deservedly taking the plaudits, another clean sheet in victory against Newcastle at the weekend was their third in five.

6. Bayern Munich (7.10) / Rating Change +.01

In great form at the weekend in what could have been a pretty tricky fixture away at Freiburg, Bayern showed their class to win 4-0 against a side that had conceded seven goals at home all season previous.

5. Atletico Madrid (7.13) / Rating Change -.02

It’s hard not to view Atletico’s defeat at Camp Nou as a premature end to what might have been an enthralling title race, with Simeone’s side far from their recent best having won their six league games previous. Barcelona, meanwhile are edged out of the top ten entirely still after what was a third draw in six La Liga outings in midweek prior to their crucial victory.

4. Juventus (7.17) / Rating Change -.02

The Old Lady weren’t at their best at Lazio on Saturday but an injury time winner from Paulo Dybala saw Max Allegri’s side move to within a point of Napoli, and with a game in hand. It was very much a champions victory in that respect.

3. Manchester City (7.25) / Rating Change +.11

The second biggest increase in rating on the leaderboard this week, Manchester City made light work of both Arsenal and Chelsea since the last rankings were released and are moving ever closer to top spot.

2. Real Madrid (7.28) / Rating Change -.06

Bouncing back from defeat at Espanyol last week with a victory over Getafe on Saturday night, Real Madrid have fallen from top spot as a result of the former ahead of their massive match with PSG.

1. Paris Saint Germain (7.28) / Rating Change +.16

It’s the Ligue 1 leaders that reclaim top spot, with a comfortable win at Troyes ensuring they are now one of just two sides, along with Juventus, to have won each of their last six league games in Europe’s top five leagues.
