Rashford joined by Chelsea quartet in Champions League Team of the Week

The midweek Champions League action was certainly a good one as far as English teams are concerned. All four Premier League sides racked up comfortable victories, collectively scoring 14 goals and conceding none.

Manchester United stunned Bundesliga leaders RB Leipzig 5-0, while Chelsea and Manchester City ran out comfortable winners away to FC Krasnodar and Marseille, respectively. Liverpool had the most favourable opponent on paper in FC Midjylland but made hard work of it, labouring to a 2-0 win at Anfield.

Three of the aforementioned quartet are represented in our Champions League Team of the Week and are joined by some star-studded names from some of their European rivals. Let's dive straight in...

Goalkeeper: Edouard Mendy (Chelsea) - 7.87 rating

Edouard Mendy made it four clean sheets in a row as Chelsea ran out comfortable winners in Russia. Chelsea look far more assured at the back with Mendy between the sticks than Kepa and the 28-year-old made four saves to help Frank Lampard's side keep FC Krasnodar out on Wednesday.

Right-back: Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool) - 7.91 rating

Trent Alexander-Arnold registered only his second assist of the season in Liverpool's hard-fought win at home to FC Midjylland, latching onto a smart Xherdan Shaqriri through ball before squaring to Roberto Firmino to tap into an empty net. Alexander-Arnold was back to his best in midweek, demonstrating his full repertoire of passing. The Liverpool right-back created four goalscoring chances in total.

Centre-back: Chancel Mbemba (FC Porto) - 7.93 rating

FC Porto bounced back from an opening defeat to Manchester City with a 2-0 win at home to Olympiacos on Tuesday. Olympiacos were still in the game until late on and Porto had to be strong at the back to repel the threat posed by the Greek side. Chancel Mbemba excelled in that regard, blocking two shots and making six clearances to help his side keep a clean sheet.

Centre-back: Kurt Zouma (Chelsea) - 7.72 rating

After navigating through a difficult opening, Kurt Zouma turned in another positive display at the back for Chelsea. The 26-year-old made seven clearances, blocked three shots and won all four of the aerial duels he contested. Zouma also finished the game with a 92.4% pass success rate.

Left-back: Marcos Acuna (Sevilla) - 9.04 rating

Sevilla relied heavily on new left-back Marcos Acuna to break down a stubborn Rennes side in midweek, with the ex-Sporting ace supplying the assist for their match winner. As well as setting up Luuk de Jong, Acuna registered five key passes overall and also completed as many dribbles.

Right wing: Hakim Ziyech (Chelsea) - 8.46 rating

Hakim Ziyech capped his full Chelsea debut with a goal and it's clear the 27-year-old is going to be a lot of fun this season. Against Krasnodar, Ziyech had five attempts in total but also demonstrated his ability off the ball with three tackles and interceptions combined for Frank Lampard's side.

Central midfield: Joshua Kimmich (Bayern Munich) - 8.50 rating

Bayern Munich were fortunate in the end to come away with three points fromr their trip to Lokomotiv Moscow on Tuesday. Carved open at the back time and time again, Bayern required another piece of Joshua Kimmich magic to get the win. In addition to Kimmich's fine long range effort, the 25-year-old registered three key passes and completed five tackles and interceptions combined.

Central midfield: Kai Havertz (Chelsea) - 8.60 rating

After a tough start to life at Chelsea, Kai Havertz turned in one of his better displays in midweek. The Germany international set up Callum Hudson-Odoi for Chelsea's opener - one of four chances created overall. Moreover, Havertz completed three dribbles and also won five aerial duels.

Left wing: Kylian Mbappe (PSG) - 9.29 rating

Initially deployed up front, Kylian Mbappe soon moved out to the left wing once Neymar came off injured in the first half. PSG made a real slog of it to beat Istanbul Basaksehir but eventually ran out 2-0 winners with Mbappe setting up both goals. Despite still waiting to end his drought in Europe, Mbappe is still turning in edge-of-your-seat performances and finished up with five key passes and nine successful dribbles in midweek.

Striker: Marcus Rashford (Man Utd) - 9.16 rating

Super-sub Marcus Rashford made a devastating impact against RB Leipzig on Wednesday, rattling in his first hat-trick for Manchester United in the space of 16 minutes. United were 1-0 up when Rashford came on in the 63rd-minute and they ended up winning 5-0. The 22-year-old can do now wrong on or off the pitch.

Striker: Joao Felix (Atletico Madrid) - 9.90 rating

Saving the best until last, Atletico Madrid's Joao Felix is our Champions League player of the week. In arguably the best display of his career, Felix dragged Atletico to all three points in their thrilling 3-2 win over Salzburg. Felix scored twice, including an 85th-minute winner, as well as completing seven dribbles and drawing four fouls. Felix hit the target with four of his seven attempts and was denied a stunning third by the frame of the Salzburg goal.
