Chelsea are ready to sell Danny Drinkwater after one season at the club and replace him with Nice star Jean Seri, reports The Daily Mirror.
The Blues signed Drinkwater from Leicester at the end of last summer but the England international endured a miserable first season at the club.
Drinkwater grew disillusioned by his lack of playing time and now the west London outfit are ready to sell their £30m investment.
Chelsea plan to replace the 28-year-old with Seri, who has been heavily linked with moves to Arsenal, Manchester United and Manchester City in the past.
The Nice midfielder came close to joining Barcelona 12 months ago before the Spanish champions pulled a plug on a deal.
Despite the fact it remains unclear who will be Chelsea manager next season, the Blues are willing to proceed with a deal for the Ivory Coast international.
Only Paris Saint-Germain star Marco Verratti (92.7) averaged more passes per game than Seri (86.3) in Ligue 1 last season.
