Bayern Munich consider move for ex-Tottenham boss Pochettino
Bayern Munich are pondering a move to make former Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino their new permanent head coach, claims Sky Sports.
Tottenham sacked Pochettino on Tuesday night and replaced the Argentine with ex-Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho the following morning.
Pochettino developed into one of the most sought-after coaches during his five-and-a-half-year stint at Tottenham and his reputation largely remains intact despite being dismissed by the north London outfit.
Manchester United, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain have all been linked with moves for the 47-year-old but managerless Bayern are best placed to hire the Argentine at the moment.
Hans-Dieter Flick is currently in interim charge of Bayern following Niko Kovac's departure at the start of the month but the Bundesliga giants are happy with the 54-year-old to continue in the meantime.
Bayern's players have responded positively to Flick, illustrated by their 4-0 win over rivals Borussia Dortmund before the international break.
Nevertheless, Bayern are considering their options and have identified Pochettino as a top candidate to become their next permanent manager.
Tottenham's WhoScored rating in the Premier League this season is the lowest garnered in a single campaign during Pochettino's time at the club (6.69).
