New York City FC midfielder Andrea Pirlo is considering a return to Europe in order to save his Italy career ahead of next summer’s European Championships.
Pirlo, 36, was omitted from Antonio Conte’s recent Italian squad and looks unlikely to be included in the travelling party to France in less than six months time.
However, the former Juventus midfielder is reportedly pondering a loan offer from Turkish outfit Antalyaspor with a view to making Conte’s squad, according to Tuttomercatoweb.
Pirlo’s maiden campaign in MLS finished with the veteran garnering his lowest WhoScored rating in the last seven years (6.73).
