Bundesliga Team of the Month: Memorable November for RB Leipzig hitman

 

RB Leipzig dominate the WhoScored best XI in the Bundesliga in November, with the star performance from the title contenders coming in their 8-0 thrashing of Mainz 05. Bayern Munich are also represented, but there is no place for any Borussia Dortmund players this month... 

 

Goalkeeper: Mark Flekken (Freiburg) - 7.63 rating 

 

Mark Flekken was solid between the sticks in November after coming into the Freiburg side at the end of October. Indeed, the busy Dutchman made more saves (23) than any other goalkeeper to help land a WhoScored.com rating of 7.63. 

 

Right-back: Nordi Mukiele (RB Leipzig) - 7.60 rating 

 

The first of four RB Leipzig representatives, Nordi Mukiele was impressive for the Bundesliga title contenders as he had a direct hand in two goals in three appearances in November, scoring one. Four interceptions, three tackles and three clearances saw the Frenchman excel at the back as RB Leipzig won all three games he started, with Mukiele good value for his WhoScored rating of 7.60. 

 

Centre-back: Ozan Kabak (Schalke) - 7.43 rating 

 

Schalke went through November unbeaten, picking up 10 of an available 12 points, with highly rated Ozan Kabak key for David Wagner's side. The 19-year-old had a direct hand in three goals in November, scoring two and assisting one, with his goalscoring output earning Schalke an additional five points last month. 11 interceptions and four tackles helped the teenager to a fine WhoScored rating of 7,43. 

 

Centre-back: Sven Bender (Bayer Leverkusen) - 7.23 rating 

 

Featuring alongside Kabak at the heart of the defence is Bayer Leverkusen's Sven Bender. The 30-year-old maximised his statistically calculated WhoScored strength of 'ball interception' in November as he made more interceptions (14) than any other Bundesliga player. The German's 25 clearances was the second most, 13 of which came in Bayer 04's 2-1 win at Bayern Munich on Saturday, to help gain a WhoScored rating of 7.23. 

 

Left-back: Alphonso Davies (Bayern Munich) - 7.69 rating 

 

The final defender in the Bundesliga team of the month of Alphonso Davies, who continues to impress at left-back. The Canadian returned a WhoScored rating of 7.69 as no player made tackles (20) than Davies, who pressed forward well when he won possession as he completed 10 dribbles, a solid return from deep.

Right midfield: Christopher Trimmel (Union Berlin) - 7.72 rating 

 

Christopher Trimmel enjoyed a notable November for Bundesliga newboys Union Berlin as he provided two assists, both of which came in the 2-0 win over Mainz, from his 10 key passes. 11 tackles and 11 interceptions were both fine returns as the experienced Austrian makes the cut with a WhoScored rating of 7.72. 

 

Central midfield: Christopher Nkunku (RB Leipzig) - 8.40 rating 

 

It was a month to remember for Christopher Nkunku who makes the Bundesliga team of the month with a WhoScored rating of 8.40. The young Frenchman made more key passes (13) than any other player in Germany's top tier and had a direct hand in five goals, assisting four, for high-flying RB Leipzig. 

 

Central midfield: Marcel Sabitzer (RB Leipzig) - 7.80 rating 

 

The third RB Leipzig player to make the grade, Marcel Sabitzer returned a WhoScored rating of 7.80 for the German giants. Three of the five goals that Austrian has scored in the Bundesliga this season came in November as three of his 10 shots on goal hit the back of the net. An additional seven key passes helped Sabitzer nail down his spot in this XI. 

 

Left midfield: Milot Rashica (Werder Bremen) - 7.88 rating 

 

Werder Bremen have endured a disappointing season as they sit just three points above the relegation playoff spot, but Milot Rashica was again impressive in November has he had a direct hand in five goals, scoring three. The Kosovan won WhoScored man of the match awards in meetings with Freiburg and Wolfsburg and his good form last month earned him a WhoScored rating of 7.88.

Striker: Timo Werner (RB Leipzig) - 8.82 rating 

 

The WhoScored Bundesliga player of the month, and deservedly so, Timo Werner yielded a WhoScored rating of 8.82 in November as he had a direct hand in a whopping 12 goals in his four appearances, six of which came in RB Leipzig's 8-0 dismantling of Mainz 05. Seven goals was more than any other player as the 23-year-old took his game to the next level in November. 

 

Striker: Robert Lewandowski (Bayern Munich) - 8.09 rating 

 

An uncharacteristically goalshy month for Robert Lewandowski, who only netted three times in November, and failed to score in two of his four appearances, the Pole was nonetheless again exccellent as he did enough to return a WhoScored rating of 8.09 to round off this XI. His three goals came from 19 shots, while one of his five key passes resulted in an assist as Lewandowski did more than enough to partner Werner in this side.
