PSG's welcome of Marseille among those to watch on Derby weekend

El Clasico may have been postponed, but while Barcelona's welcome of Real Madrid has been pushed back to December, there are plenty of 'classic' encounters across Europe this weekend.

Exeter vs Plymouth Argyle - League Two

Not the most glamourous of the derbies on the continent, but Exeter host Plymouth as they aim to get back to winning ways in the Devon Derby. The Grecians have fallen to back-to-back losses after their top-of-the-table win over Forest Green earlier this month. Now four points off top spot, they welcome a Plymouth side coming into this derby on the back of a 4-0 win over Leyton Orient. Unbeaten in five, winning three, the Pilgrims will fancy their chances of making it three successive league wins over Exeter and move level on points with their rivals.

Schalke 04 vs Borussia Dortmund - Bundesliga

Schalke sprung a major upset in the most recent Revierderby when they stunned Borussia Dortmund, landing a 4-2 win at Signal Iduna Park. In an unbelievably tight Bundesliga table - two points separate league leaders Gladbach and Bayer Leverkusen in ninth - there is just a point between Dortmund and Schalke coming into Saturday's tie. Schalke boast one of the league's tighest defences having conceded just nine goals, but only Bayern Munich (22) have scored more goals than Dortmund (20) in Germany's top tier this term. Reeling from a 2-0 loss in Milan, expect the latest installment of this derby to be a corker.

Swansea vs Cardiff - Championship

The first South Wales derby in over five years, Swansea will be looking for a repeat of the last meeting between the pair when they ran out 3-0 winners. The Swans come into this clash in the midst of a dire run having won only one of their last seven league matches, but Cardiff are an accomodating opponent to get back to winning ways. Indeed, the Bluebirds are one of five sides yet to win an away Championship match this season and have conceded more away goals (15) than any other side in the division. Having won only one of their last five meetings with Swansea at the Liberty Stadium, the Swans should be confident of a return to winning ways.

Lokomotiv Moscow vs Spartak Moscow - Russian Premier League

League leaders Lokomotiv Moscow will be out to pile further misery upon their downtrodden neighbours Spartak Moscow. The People's Team are on a six-match winless run, the joint-current longest in the Russian Premier League, having lost five times in that run to leave them just two points above the relegation playoff spot. Lokomotiv may have fallen to a surprise 2-1 home loss to Rostov at the end of August, but have lost only two of their last 30 home league matches. While their recent form against Spartak leaves little to the imagination, Yuri Semin should be confident of overseeing victory in this Moscow derby.

CSKA Moscow vs Dinamo Moscow - Russian Premier League

Moscow is going to be teeming with football fans on Sunday as CSKA Moscow host Dinamo Moscow at the same time as Lokomotiv's welcome of Spartak. Like Spartak, Dinamo are also in the midst of a six-match winless run, though they currently occupy one of the two relegation spots with 11 points to their name. CSKA are down in fifth, but just three points off first, following a recent home defeat at the hands of - you guessed it - Rostov. Against a Dinamo side that have won only one of their last 11 away league matches, CSKA should end their two-match winless run on Sunday afternoon.

Ajax vs Feyenoord - Eredivisie

Feyenoord couldn't be facing Ajax at a worse time. The Rotterdammers have failed to win their last five Klassieker clashes in Amsterdam and come into Sunday's match on a run of one win in their last five. It doesn't bode well for Jaap Stam's side, particularly as Ajax have won their last 12 home Eredivisie outings. The league leaders are rightly overwhelming favourites to pick up all three points at the expense of their rivals.

Besiktas vs Galatasaray - Super Lig

Besiktas are very much off the pace and find themselves down in 11th coming into their derby encounter with Galatasaray, who are unbeaten in their last seven league games, albeit having drawn three of their last four. At home, however, Besiktas have won two and drawn two of four in the Super Lig this season, and are unbeaten in 15 at Vodafone Park, so can at least look to home advantage to upset the odds against one of their Istanbul rivals. Winning three and drawing one of their last four home Super Lig meetings with Galatasaray, Besiktas aren't to be underestimated in this match up.

PSG's welcome of Marseille among those to watch on Derby weekend

PSG vs Marseille - Ligue 1

Last but by no means least, PSG come into Le Classique on a run of five straight wins. They're well backed to earn a sixth successive competitive victory against Marseille, having win 16 of the last 18 meetings between the two. Marseille have been no slouches on the road, but a 2-0 win over Strasbourg last weekend ended a four-match winless run. These two have lost just two league games each this season, but it's the Parisian powerhouse who are the more likely of the two to earn all the spoils.
