Pogba makes cut but Inter dominate Europa League Team of the Semi-Finals

Sevilla will face Inter in the 2019/20 Europa League final on Friday but first it's time to take stock of the semi-final action. Sevilla booked their place in yet another final with a smash-and-grab 2-1 win over Manchester United. The Red Devils were made to rue several missed chances and made to pay for poor defending, before Inter tore Shakhtar Donetsk to pieces in a 5-0 thumping on Monday to make their first European final in a decade.

After a five-star showing, it's not surprising Inter dominate the WhoScored Team of the Semi-Finals. Antonio Conte's side have six players in the XI, including player of the round Lautaro Martinez. The Barcelona target scored twice and showed great skill to assist strike partner Romelu Lukaku to garner a perfect WhoScored 10 rating.

Lukaku wasn't far off the feat himself, claiming a WhoScored rating of 9.70. The Belgium international scored in a record-extending 10th-straight Europa League game, a run that stretches back to November 2014 with Everton, added another late on and also assisted Martinez. Inter's strikers are joined in the Team of the Round by Nicolo Barella, Stefan de Vrij, Diego Godin and Danilo D'Ambrosio.

Inter's opponents on Friday, Sevilla, make up three spots in the XI and it's not surprising they come in defensive positions after the barrage they survived against United. Goalkeeper Bono was in inspired form to deny the Red Devils, making six saves and only beaten by an unstoppable penalty. He is joined by full-back duo Sergio Reguilon and Jesus Navas, who assisted each of Sevilla's goals.

United's exit wasn't for a lack of trying but wasteful finishing. Paul Pogba tried his best to inspire victory for his side. His passing was exceptional and dribbling dazzling. The Frenchman registered four key passes and completed nine dribbles. He is joined in the XI by United team-mate Marcus Rashford. The England international, who won United's penalty, is the lowest rated member in the XI (6.99), mainly slotting into the side duo to a lack of competition. Marlos was never going to make it for Shakhtar after their heavy defeat, while Lucas Ocampos endured a quiet game for Sevilla and Ashley Young only managed a rating of 6.74 for Inter.
